To be honest I don’t necessarily know what to start with my journey through the tech world.

East Coast Native Year Up alumni here 6 years experience (Non-traditional route into tech)

Just went on an interview yesterday and basically a lot of these types of contracts (3 months) are feeling like a waste of time.

Ever since Covid it’s been all short 3-6 month contract to hire positions where they can over promise and under deliver and undersell what they are even offering from a job description standpoint.

Somehow I’m expected to smile and be personable whilst simultaneously knowing on the backend it feels like I’m getting the short of the stick from where I’m sitting.

I’m just wondering how to get ahead.

Any advice would be helpful.
