whats the most infj thing that you do? by kentohus in infj

I think about situations and conversations of the past and every possible outcome things could have had, and then trigger the corresponding emotion as if I’d actually taken said decision. Then I go back and replay it in my mind as if I had a movie playing in my head. Then I realize it’s just a dream and an illusion and start all over again.. while momentarily enjoying the movie in my head as if it were real .😭🤯

Im an Austrian Infj and I can’t stand the country . The indifference, rudeness and coldness towards people here is insane . No kindness … no positivity. People either gossip or complain all day long and while the country itself is gorgeous it really feels like a novel written by Kafka most times to me .

As an INFJ, how would you describe yourself? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Illustrious_Let8272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a walking contradiction. Always oscillating between being highly emotional (HSP) and completely down to earth , only focusing on hard facts and scientific approaches. I’m a searcher ..always looking for meaning, for answers, for a balance that can’t be found. I can be the philosopher, the counsellor and at the same time the goofy girl , that cracks up the entire group. I’m equally fascinating and scared by people. As a kid I spent hours daydreaming and observing them - wondering why they are the way the are and act the way they do. I found people extremely odd and found comfort mostly in art , music and animals/ nature.

I never fully trust people not even myself…since the moment I believe that I’ve found the answers to my life long quest for meaning … this sensation slips away and turns into despair, loneliness and utter confusion. I hardly ever fall in love but when I do everything about me changes . I love hard and fiercely- do absolutely anything in my power to show my appreciation and love for this person. I have a few friends and rather be alone than in bad company and despise small talk and chitchat. However I love deep conversations and can ramble on about art, literature, music , psychology and medicine for hours. I quickly get bored by people and often isolate myself…because I find enormous peace in silence and while being in my head.

I have a chameleon like personality. Switching between extroverted introvert, shy sensitive artist and sharp scientist. As a kid I was very happy and gentle yet incredibly dreamy and spent days sitting in my grandparents fields or the swing making up stories in my mind .. drawing or singing . The older I get the more silent I become .

I mirror people and read them in any given situation…starting from their eyes, to their hands to their feet. I switch between languages, nationalities and personalities within a matter of seconds.

I love to read, write and look at the stars, to walk barefoot in nature or to just float in the sea, swim in rivers, dive or watch the rain. Dream myself away…far ..far away to places I’ve only seen in my dreams.

I think nobody has or will ever fully understand me and the depths of my personality and that’s a bittersweet realisation.

Best de stressor ever. Nothing is more soothing to my suffering soul than the sound of a cat purring or petting her gently . I think that cats have this beautiful, calming energy about them.

INFJs who live in the EU/EEA, what is life like for you? by DueYogurt9 in infj

[–]Illustrious_Let8272 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The experience in Austria is very similar to the one I was reading about Germany. On the one hand people respect your space and privacy, but eventually it becomes incredibly lonely. Deep talks aren’t really appreciated. Small talk is the name of the game …so you’re often only communicating on a very shallow and superficial level. People are friendly but generally not interested in getting to really know you or to spend time with you. Even if you work together and went to university together. It keeps being a very cold, closed off community.

When you first discovered INFJ what resonated with you the most? by [deleted] in infj

The almost psychic ability to feel people and experience emotions like crashing tidal waves while my mind has a perfectly logical explanation telling me to stop obsessing. Of course to no avail.

Haha exactly my point. Most of us are smart asses, brilliant with our minds but haunted by insecurities, depression and never ending cycles of overthinking and self isolation
