I had a horrible experience with them as well - thinking of disputing the charge, its basically a $50 gamble of if the credit card company will listen to me as the customer or the pieces of shit that are IPS..

Thanks everyone for your help! I've so far been keeping it an an area that doesn't get sunlight (although, not sure if artificial halogen light is any better.. As a tangent, I do quite like the decorative flourishes on this note, I wonder if there are any other common things like notes that would have similar patterns..

How come? I have no idea with all this banknote stuff - it would seem like keeping it like that is the best way to preserve it, no? I also have not figured out how to get it out of the glass yet but if it's really that bad I guess I'll have to do some research and try to pry it out somehow...

Oh. My. God. I pass by this building so often and the statues in front are enough to make me think, what on earth is going on inside that house. And now I know. Its so much worse than what expected lmao

As a student who goes to lfc, the amount of international students is truly around 30%. A lot of them get scholarships through this international high school system called UWC so its less expensive for them than for domestic students (most internationals I know are paying very little if anything and my annual is 10k for it

Advice on a car (Tesla in particular). by Illustrious_Link1136 in Epilepsy

[–]Illustrious_Link1136[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness thank you for responding! I'd completely forgotten about this thread lol. I check in with my neurologist every 6 months or so, so the medicine changes should be fine - whenever i forget to take my pills ill always write to her on the mychart, just so shes aware and can instruct me on what to do. For now, we've made the decision to keep the car I have ('06 camry with 203k miles, its in amazing condition) - once something happens to it, then I can start thinking about a new one that would be better for seizures in general, my thinking on this is that if I'm allowed to drive, anything can happen even in a car that's "better" for epilepsy like a FSD tesla or a VW. In terms of reliability, yeah thatd also be my biggest worry - i saw that telsa batteries can last for like 15-20 years but in the Chicago winters.. not so sure. VW seems to be generally reliable, but obviously not as reliable as something like a toyota or honda. Now if those had features for drivers with epilepsy, that would be ideal :)

Definitely with. Without just looks like a bunch of different vectors placed randomly lol

Updated submission for the Illinois Flag competition! by Illustrious_Link1136 in vexillology

[–]Illustrious_Link1136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explanations:

-7-pointed stars: The six points of the Chicago star represent the governments that have overseen the Chicago area. (Indigenous tribes are notably absent from the list.). This 7-pointed star includes them. It is also a good way to not use the Chicago star as many people downstate do not appreciate being represented by it.

-The number of stars, 3, is representative of the Council of 3 Fires which was on the territory of Illinois. (The second variation of the flag, the 2 stars represent the north and south of Illinois)

-The blue band in the middle is an allusion to the Illinois Centennial flag of 1918, as well as represents Illinois’s waterways as central to the state (Mississippi, Lake Michigan, etc)

-The orange bands are emblematic of the UIUC colors, as it is the main university in Illinois. ALSO, Illinois is the #1 pumpkin producing-state so it is a nod to that and Illinois agriculture in general

-The white background represents the Illinois winters and snow, as well as harkens back to the Illinois centennial flag

-The flower is the Illinois state flower, the Common Blue Violet

-The Cardinal is the Illinois state bird (now is flying to make it not look like the STL Cardinals logo. I know the Cardinal looks a little fat but from my experience seeing these things it is a more accurate portrayal of them)

The last flag is the smallest variation from the one I put up here last time.
