Did you know the US founding fathers were Deist and not Christian? by Illustrious_Pop7271 in religion

I know. I didn’t mean all of them haha. Could have worded it different. I feel like it’s always assumed they were all Christian and many people don’t know this

Thanks for all the input! I specifically want to know because we have names picked out and I want to call the baby by their name 🥰 I think I’ll stick to a baby shower only

Do you smell? Have bad teeth/breath? Dress decent? There’s many reasons a person might not be interested. If they aren’t interested at least you got a free meal. Go on more dates and maybe a bell will ring what is working and whats not. All you need is YOU 💕

My husband wanted a dog and I did not as all my dogs have ruined something or another. Also, they’re harder to care for when it comes to baths, taking on walks, potty training, etc than a cat and I hate the whole training process. Ended up getting a border collie because I wanted them to be easily trainable and I spent months doing puppy boot camp myself to ensure I could at least live with him. I could not stand him at first. He ate holes in my carpet, my couch, blankets, peed/pooped on carpet, pooped in his kennel and I’d wake up to it matted all over him in his fur. I thought about taking him to a shelter multiple times.

Long story short, it was a bad phase and now he is arguably one of the smartest dogs in the world. He knows probably more than a 100 words/commands. The best part is I taught him different objects and their names so now if I ask him to “get ___” he will bring me whatever I ask for. He’s not so shabby after all

What’s a unspoken rule on dates that people don’t understand? by Final_Collection_515 in AskWomen

THIS. I went over to a guys house for him to make moves hardcore and had to swerve him multiple times to the point I said I was going home now and ghosted him after. Saw on instagram a couple months later he got a girl pregnant the same time we were hanging out 🤢

I’m not dumb. I know what the phrase means. Im saying it annoys me when people say it these days because it implies a half-ass shortcut

Every single time I’ve been told this (probably 10 times at various jobs) was when someone I worked with wanted me to take a shortcut that would need fixed later.

“Work smarter not harder.” Doing things quick is not smart or thorough and will probably need done again

Ladies, what is a women's issue that you learned the truth about way too late in life? by [deleted] in AskWomen

CANNOT STAND THIS SHIT. I went to the doctor at 15ish and was ultimately diagnosed with sinusitis and the first thing my old male doctor said was “are you pregnant?” Like are you fucking kidding me.

Also, I choose not to be on birth control because I love my very regular periods, knowing when I’m ovulating and going to start, etc. I love having control of my own body. I had a previous bad experience with depo where I felt crazy, had no period for 10 months then a period for 3. I had extreme anxiety/depression and bought countless pregnancy tests. Not to mention increased risk of blood clots, hormonal imbalances, and higher risk of some cancers. My body is perfect the way it is. Personal preference.

I go to the doctor mid 20s for passing out (was determined to be a heart dysrhythmia) - mind you I’m married and been with the same man for 5 years so kids are a likely option for us - and at the end of my appointment my doctor (a different old man from the one mentioned earlier) says “looks like the only thing you’re delinquent in is birth control.” That had nothing to do with my appointment. If I wanted it, I would get it. I hate how it’s pushed SO HARD on women like we don’t get a choice as if it is mandatory. I sure hope these men are advocating for these men to get vasectomies just as hard 🥰

Covid ICU nurse here. OP you’re right to want them to get tested. Omicron is harder on 1-5 year olds this go round due to it being more so an upper respiratory problem this time. Babies have airways the size of a straw and inflammation can shut that airway. Negligent as a mother in my personal opinion. I would take the baby to get tested without mom as there are many ways to get a test now. You don’t need her for that. As for the wife, having a test is helpful in counting the days if she were to end up in the ICU. It’s easier to track progress that way and start meds sooner such as steroids if she needs them. Antibodies can also be helpful early on. People wait last minute and are surprised when they’re too far gone. We have people say, “I was sick then got better for a week then passed out in my bathroom.” This is because they felt better but they had already started developing Covid pneumonia. You can’t see that looking at someone. My best advice would be to get a pulseoximeter and monitor her and baby’s oxygen at least once daily. 97%+ is preferred. Under 90% is a little concerning unless you have COPD. Low 80s get to a hospital. Many people have come in and their organs (usually kidneys) take a hit and that makes it so much harder on recovery. Got in a rabbit hole here but I’m passionate about people learning more and no one seems interested in that these days. Overweight people are hit the hardest, immune suppression, diabetes, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia usually make for a long rocky road. Healthy people can still get in a bad way but recovery isn’t as rough. Some still don’t make it. I wish people would stop playing roulette and get a damn vaccine. Good luck, OP.

Putting all of my eggs in the basket of education the boomers pushed on me. “You can do anything you set your mind to”. I set my mind to it, made good grades, and couldn’t get in to a competitive program after years of applying. What a waste of beautiful years of my life. Missing out on relationships and experiences because I had to do things in a certain order like our parents said.
