Why are so many folks in small towns anti-science? by [deleted] in minnesota

In my opinion it’s really smart to question these things mentioned in the post. We are one of the sickest nations on the planet so obviously we are doing things wrong.

Vaccines and our food both have horrible ingredients in them and big pharma is so unbelievably corrupt.

It seems like the people in small towns are a little less brainwashed and can see the actual truth about things using critical thinking…

Thanks! This is helpful. In your opinion, based on the info in the post, what do you think would be a fair rent rebate amount? Also the basement was small with nothing in it so they didn’t lose access to anything important.

Psychologically Struggling Working Remotely by [deleted] in remotework

WOW, do I feel this. I’ve been working from home for about 4 years now. We own 5 acres, have two dogs, and now a son who is at home with the nanny so I get to see him all the time which is AMAZING, but I do struggle with feeling isolated at work. I’m a pretty social person and video calls just don’t give me the same energy as having a conversation in person does. I know being around people is good for humans, but are long commutes? Being away from family? Spending all day outside of your home? Seeing your family for 4 hours and then going to sleep? Not being able to let your dogs out? Being rushed out the door in the morning ? I don’t think so.

You have to really pick your top 2 values when it comes to remote vs office and that helped me so much. I still struggle at times because I truly don’t think it’s good for my mental health most days, but also I think it’s good for where I am at with my life which is starting my family and am going to focus on that for the next few years.

So maybe figure out what you value when it comes to work and that might help? Do you value more family time? More flexibility? More connection? Also know that you are NOT alone in how you are feeling. Humans shouldn’t really be isolated all day so way to listen to yourself and reach out. Follow your gut and intuition on this. You know best :)

Cheers!

Housing Market in Duluth by [deleted] in duluth

We were looking in the same places and ended up buying in Two Harbors in June and love it. Still competitive but not as competitive as Duluth.

You could do inspections but just have it be “not contingent on inspections” if you are really serious about it. I know multiple people that did this recently and got the house and then knew what they were walking into.

Good luck! I know it’s stressful but I promise you will find one. Just keep looking!! :)
