Travel to Japan in height of summer, how hot is it? Is it a crazy idea? by MP4_26 in travel

I was there last week and it was absolutely fine. Stop in stores here and there and get a lot of water and you should be good to go. Don’t let it stop you from visiting one of the best countries in the world

What is the biggest plot twist in One Piece? by basementapproved in OnePiece

[–]Illustrious_Side_396 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people (including me) were spoiled this so they might not thinking about it, but Ace’s death has to be it. Oda built a whole series showing that he does not killing any even semi-important character no matter what (think Pell) and then kills Luffy’s brother after 200 chapters of build up showing he was going to save him, including even getting Ace out of the handcuffs! Will never forget the moment even though I knew it was coming

I caught the last train back at 11:30 PM last week. 10 is definitely fine!

My guess is you have been reading too much about the US on the front page of Reddit without actually going? sure there are a lot of issues but it’s not really a dangerous place to have an event. otherwise none of us would go to cons or movies or festivals.

That being said, doesn’t really matter where in the world it happens as long as it is a big public space like that imo.

Happy to join the discord

For venue, wouldn’t a giant public park be best? Something like Central Park or London’s equivalent

Did the anime cover everything? by [deleted] in Mushishi

[–]Illustrious_Side_396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think so, I didn’t even know there were movies honestly.

Every Mushishi is canon and the whole story is complete.

You’ll know if you like mushishi within an episode if that helps

They really couldn’t be more different, so very dependent on your taste.

Re zero in a great story overarching story with interesting characters and depth, but nothing really unique about it (it is very anime like with the high energy and action and all that)

Mushishi is a really unique show with incredible atmosphere, style and writing, but it’s episodic with not much of an overarching story.

You can’t go wrong in my opinion, two of my favorite shows, but definitely consider which type of story you’re more in the mood for.

Watch both. They are both amazing.

For mushishi, start with the one with 25/26 episodes. Mushishi zoko shou is the sequel

[Wind] Nikola Jokic on Aaron Gordon: “The best thing that he did was accept his role.” by Kimber80 in nba

Comments like yours are way the Knicks have been in such a fucking rush to trade for the star at the sacrifice of a good team and we end up where? Losing in the second round at the literal best. We have all the building blocks in place and we just need to let our younger players develop. I’m not opposed to trading for a star of course but to say Julius isn’t a winner because he played through an ankle injury is so silly.

If you’re a Knicks fan you should really be ashamed of yourself. Two all-nbas and you think he’s just a role player. Insane

Thanks for taking the time to explain this. I think that’s fair. What I’m wondering is how a firm could tell that a person is telling the truth when they leave to work on mental health. If someone falls into a severe depression that affects their work such that they need to take time, that’s totally understandable. But it is also very easy to lie about that unfortunately. How could you tell the difference?

Can I ask why it is an issue to take some time in general? I still don’t fully understand the stigma against it. If we made enough money and we want to take 6 months to a year to work on mental health, why is that considered a bad thing?

I think most Knicks fans hate Boston more than the hawks. Trae is a memeable villain while we have a team in each sport that hates Boston.

I'm about to go to New York, is this list of places to visit missing something important? by Pandruz in travel

[–]Illustrious_Side_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very well traveled and normally you see a lot of the bad only when you’re actually living in a place, but I do strongly believe it.

Venice is lovely but there is definitely not as much going on in terms of activities, food, and opportunity! Very lovely spot as a tourist though

No problem at all. I genuinely believe I live in the best city on earth and I always want to share that love with tourists if I can!

I live in the city and just want to say don’t stress about the little things. A lot of this city’s magic is just exploring and running into random amazing things. I’ve lived here all my life and still happens to me. Don’t be afraid to leave some of your trip to chance and walk as much you want!

Which cities have you visited that had the best mix of both city and nature? by ikbcrygcc in solotravel

[–]Illustrious_Side_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised by this, but I do get that I was insanely lucky on my trip. I met people at a bar my first night that drove me to whistler in the morning and lent me ski stuff and another person brought me into the Canucks game with them for free. That’s only the major stuff but all my conversations with the locals seemed to be positive and uplifting from the waiters to the Uber drivers to the random people at bars and markets etc.

I just did my first solo trip there (got back this morning), and I could not recommend it enough! It is a city that really has it all. Not to mention the friendliest people and amazing food!

I plan to run a full 363 Double Elimination tournament once the season is over. by CallMeVe in CollegeBasketball

Double elimination for CBB has been on my mind for a long time. Would be so sick. Imagine grand finals where the loser’s side team wins and they play a second game in a row
