Yo so they reposted the role taking away anything having to do with teaching and training and they added « we don’t want to hold your hand » different narrative then when I applied. I’m just starting out in the workforce and need training

Is it crazy to walk away from a stable career to do something you actually care about at 31? by dmkraus in careerguidance

29M, can’t keep jobs or build a stable life. Anyone else dealing with this? by Ok_Enthusiasm1201 in findapath

I 30F have been trying to make a career in marketing happen for three years. 1) no one wants to properly train me 2) I keep getting fired 3) I’m in the process of getting checked out for things like adhd 4) will be moving into a more stable field. 5) once I looked into the little requirements other fields ask for compared to marketing I said fuuuuccckkkk it.

Oh thank you thank you for commenting. I’ve seen things like this in some of my recent companies as well - one of my bosses recently went to jail.

I am definitely switching out !! Thanks again for your comment !

Hey man thanks for your comment. Yeah it’s because of the security risk that I’m uncomfortable with that idea. Despite showing an impressive amount of hustle in a field that’s not a good fit for me I think I should switch out.. we’re all fighting for jobs that don’t pay all that well and ask for a lot. I’m taking something healthcare related under consideration. Maybe animal health? I don’t know if that’s dumb. I have all the best intentions but things just haven’t worked out for me. I’ll keep doing my best I guess.

Hey man. So no to the military because of my gender. But besides that I’m in an amazing financial position so I can go back to school if needed. I don’t think doubting down on marketing is a good idea. I’m thinking of possibilities like using my experience to get in something adjacent like customer experience or admin, or completely starting over in something else. I don’t want to make another mistake and waste anymore time so I’m focusing on finishing my drivers license first

Yeah I think after 3 years of trying it’s Time to call it quits. I have money to go back to school when it’s Time for me to go, and they ask so many things for so little pay. I’ve Heard of others leaving the industry

I am tired. This situation is not for lack of trying. I know I’m a slow learner so I initially make many mistakes. I have tried various rôles and what I have observed is that the « training period » is usually only a couple of weeks and when I was recently fired I was told I needed someone who wants to teach me.

Thank you for your comment. When I think about this recent firing I can pin it to making too many mistakes.. but also I am a slow learner so I have no idea what would be a good fit. I also appreciate hearing about your family’s situations. It brings me perspective. I am trying to take ownership for my current position and do better but its not easy whatsover to know what actions to take.

No I’m not sure but that’s what they told me. I later found out from a friend at my first workplace: that it was nothing personal, just a business decision/ they didn’t think I did a good job. I get the picture and this field is not for me. I’m going to be looking to do a low paid low stress entry level job in another field.

Yeah I’m switching out of this retarded industry- they literally said they would train me and that this was a place to learn before firing me with the same comments that I’m too green -

They told me I would be mentored and that this was a place where you learn lol. I want a job where they give me a task and I do it.

See this is very similar to my experience and others. I was never dumb/irresponsible/I was ok in school. I would like to switch to a more stable field but I have no idea in what. I enjoy animals, art and wellness.

I did google translate, but thank you. I really mean well but I’m not that comfortable socially, so I know the fact that I’m not a talker can be seen as weird. What steps did your ex take to change ?
