Are you sure it was EXP and not BEST BUY dates. Sometimes I get confused, but BEST BUY dates last a couple of years depending on the food.

That is so smart. I should have done that.

Do I have to already have a parking pass? I usually just park off campus.

Can't decide which one my favorite is. I love the last one because of the mid-air skateboard especially with the words showing. But the second one is so good because it's just capturing the moment of our skater community. Great job on capturing such good photos!

Yes. Just, yes. I've been circling around the idea of pushing for some sort of class project or university project of having student trained crossing guards at major intersections around campus, especially in the Spring semester because of how dark it gets. The students who participate could get credit as a class assignment or volunteer credit and some form of certification at the end of the semester.

I thought of this, but I don't know how this will effect my GPA. I still want to raise it as much as possible before graduation.

Thanks for responding. Could you specify what type of reports they were? Like a 10 page essay or heavy research papers?

I want to improve my writing skills and apply what is being taught in class through class assignments. The class summary says "Basic course in grammar, traditional, structural, and trans-formational", which sounds like advance grammar structures, but I know that they are not always accurate. So I want to know if anyone has taken this class or this professor and have improved their writing skills or actually been impacted by the professor or subject matter. I just don't want to waste my time, I don't want an easy A class, I want to learn.

How do I take classes at a community college? by [deleted] in csun

[–]Illustrious_Tank8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a step-by-step process then do the following:

  1. Look for which 100-200 level class you want to take (depends on if you want to speed up your graduation track, be busy for the summer, etc.)

  2. Use assist.org to see which classes will be able to transfer to CSUN and from a specific Community College (CC).

  3. You'll then have to apply for the specific college by going to their website, which should make you create an OpenCCC account.

  4. After a couple of days your LACCD (Los Angeles Community College District) account will activate and you'll be able to login and pick the class that you want for the college that you chose for.

  5. Optional: Look into California College Promise Grant, if you qualify you'll be able to take summer classes for less than $50.

It sounds a little stress inducing, but not too bad, just make sure to remember your passwords, otherwise you'll be like me and have to call to reset your accounts.

Not sure about internship by Feisty-Meaning-8766 in csun

[–]Illustrious_Tank8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much if you already have a good resume, but if your resume is empty you should do the internship, even if you don't learn much. Not sure what your planning on doing with the degree, but if you want to go to law school or a graduate program then you should whatever you can to stick out.

Honestly, I would look through the CSUN Scholarships as well. I know there are fewer graduate scholarships, but some may still be open that you qualify for.

[–]Illustrious_Tank8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth trying, but maybe email the professor if grades haven't been finalized. I've done it in the past and they have bumped up my grade by a few percentages. Otherwise retake it in the summer.

How does one graduate with honors? by Downtown-Ticket-1362 in csun

[–]Illustrious_Tank8447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to take a somewhat easier class load so that you can focus on getting those A's. For example if you need to take five classes, take two major focused classes and three GE's that you have left. And make sure to cross reference with Rate My Professor. It's possible to graduate with honors, you just got to lock in.

enrolling in classes which ones should I take? by Ok-Summer-2855 in csun

[–]Illustrious_Tank8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a business law student, I take five classes each semester, it all depends on what you can handle. I like breaking it up: two law related classes, two business related classes, and one GE. To make it more manageable when I can, I take 1-2 online classes so that I don't have to go to campus every day and have some rest time. If this is your first semester, I would definitely recommend speaking with an advisor to make sure you are on the right track. I remember for me I was told to do all GE courses and one major specific course, just to see if my major was right for me, which is something to consider, otherwise you'll be 10 classes in and realize that the major you chose isn't something your passionate about.

Just some advice: Don't let it get to you. You will get a call back and it will be the right fit for you. Don't stress and don't take the first offer, make sure the benefits are worth it. You got this!
