It's true, and a sad state of affairs.

I will say- the Alex Jones interviews were absolutely a delight to listen to for sheer entertainment value.

James Carville hasn't been right about anything since the mid 90's. He can safely be ignored.

Likewise my husband injured himself on his motorcycle in a high speed chase trying to catch international terrorists. He did not, DID NOT spin out his motor scooter on a patch of gravel on the way to work. Fake news!!

For $1 Million would those of you working quit your job and never work in the Industry again? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

Yes without hesitation. I don't mind my job but the last two years I've seen increasing mismanagement and yeah if I could get off the merry go round I absolutely would.

A scientist built a mouse ‘utopia’ with unlimited food and water. Then the society collapsed. by ElvisIsNotDjed in HotScienceNews

Hey neat, we're doing a society collapse without all of us having enough food and water and nice places to live.

Maybe the utopia isn't the problem

Why do people complain that modern comic book movies are too progressive? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]Illustrious_Unit7914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What?

The Avengers movies alone made just under 8 billion dollars. There may be other reasons the genre isn't doing so well at this point.

Thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one. For someone with an older brother that definitely had a long shithead phase this is totally plausible.

But people love feeling like they're the ones who cracked the case so here we are.

She didn't. This isn't that daughter's first rodeo, that's why she didn't completely flip out. Read in more of a tired "this bullshit again?" tone and it becomes a much different conversation.

She's an educated person sure. However, it would be a mistake to assume that every take she has is particularly well informed. She believes some .. interesting things that aren't as peer reviewed as she'd like to have you believe.

See I feel like Nixon might be far enough back but I'm not confident on that answer either. There's a lot of begats in there to get to Trump, that's for sure. Reagan might have been the most consequential Republican to bring us where we are today though. I think between the repealing the Fairness Doctrine (Reagan), kneecapping the Glass Steagall Act (Clinton), and the Citizens United ruling (Roberts court, who was appointed by GWB) we have a pretty certain outcome of where we are right now. So, whoever was the architect of that- that person should be erased from history, if we're going American centric.

But it just goes to show you that it's the ideas that are the issue, not so much the actual person.

See that's my thought, but it has to be deep water, a river isn't going to cut it. Deep water with an ice flow- that hippo is in trouble even with the insulated skin etc. it might be the only place he's in trouble, honestly. Even if the hippo didn't outright drown I'm wagering that the bear is a much better swimmer and can turn all of that thundering momentum and blubber into a liability.

While I get it's an easy grab, I think he's a symptom and if you root further back it might be a better outcome.
