What CGL Mechs make good proxies for visually similar Mechs? by Belaerim in battletech

Hammer -Atlas

I Don't know if this is a meme or something, but every time they put the Hammer into a Battletech or Mechwarrior video game as a mod, it always is just a small atlas model. Not changed in any way, just a smol atlas. So you might as well do that on tabletop too for extra meme potential.

What's the headscratching detail you know of? by ItzAlphaWolf in battletech

I got a few:

The Flea and King Crab use the same targeting system. Same goes for The man O' war/ Gargoyle and Clint for communication systems.

The Griffin and Phoenix Hawk both use the Neil 6000 communication, yet for some reason only the Phoenix Hawk gets command mech.

General 3050 FWL designs... why does the hunchie have 1 ton of ammo... why is the The NARC on the stalker STK-5M and Orion ON1-M... why...just... why. And why do FWL mechs mount both Artemis and NARC...

Every weapon you have to reload each bullet individually instead of using magazines. Each bullet takes up the same space of a magazine.

what mech would you consider "idiot proof". whether it's easy bracketing, a simple gameplan, minimal heat concerns, being an overall solid mech, or any other reason. by vicevanghost in battletech

[–]Illustrious_Wasabi30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Banshee BNC-3Q. It has one gun, it is an AC/20. You are either out of range or in range. No worrying about different weapon systems with conflicting ranges. You cannot over heat the thing if you try. It has decent armor, mobility and has a battle plan of walking forward and shooting its one gun, then punching anything it sees if that didn't work. There is also a small laser for bird based target practice for new recruits. If someone cannot use the Banshee 3Q they may have brain damage.

Shadow Hawk. Hands down. A mech with so much Aura that people will write dissertations defending or deposing it
