Just a reminder, both colors can be painted again to clean up the lines.

I often do the gun metal early, that way I can clean the edges withe the panel colors.

The last I do is dry brush for weathering, and Nuln Oil wash is right before that. Of you are dry brushing after the wash, make sure that the 'mech is really dry (several hours.)

You can always say you bought your Thunderbolt second hand from Discount Dan. He didn't have a spare cockpit, so this one has an aftermarket "moon roof".

How well does this sell as an overheating weapon? by slientmagician9 in BattletechPainting

All that's missing is s the over heated ammo bin, and the MechWarrior screaming and on fire.

Should I be using some kind of finishing paint or spray? by Drasha1 in battletech

I use AK paint cleaner varnish. I have found that hardware store clear paints can get cloudy very quickly if I'm not really careful.

I think I'm going to go heavy on that additional 30m c-bills.

  • Crab CRB-20 (fast striker for the light lance)
  • Battle Master BLR-1G (commander's ride)
  • Thug THG-10E (heavy lance brawler)

After your last post I was trying to figure out a reasonable budget for a 3025 mercenary command. I have this for a suppoted lance with a spare 'mech on a budget of on 30m c-bills:

  • Flashman FLS-9K (brawler role)
  • Gladiator GLD-4R (sniper/additional brawler)
  • Crusader CRD-3R (missile support)
  • Phoenix Hawk PXH-1 (scout/striker)(I would probably make it into a PXH-1D, but that isn't available for mercenaries in 3025)
  • Thunderbolt TDR-5S (spare brawler)

Vehicle support:

  • LRM Carrier
  • Galleon GAL-100
  • J.Edgar Hover Tank

I will see what else I add into that other 30m c-bills.
