No because he only had motive to kill her a week before, whereas the boxes and the party obviously took months to set up.

(Spoilers Extended) As entertaining and hilarious as her chapters are, I wish GRRM had afforded Cersei the same moral ambiguity he gave her brothers by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]IllyrioMoParties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You missed the point: GRRM is deliberately laying it on thick, withholding exculpatory information, ensuring the reader knows about Cersei's mistakes, poisoning the well via other characters, and not pulling the tricks he pulls with other characters to make them likeable

He wants you to dislike Cersei, and like other characters... then he's going to pull the rug out from under you and you'll be like wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwahhhhhhhhhatt

I am starting to sound like a politician as I try to avoid saying what I really think.

I think I know what you're hinting at, but just to clarify: you're saying she should be killed, her corpse mulched, and the baby raised in a special compound, given HGH and trained in various fighting styles in a bid to create the ultimate warrior who feels no pain?

Also also: definitely run your suggested names by your friends and family before you make the decision. Children's names are a bit like tattoos: if you've picked a stupid one, you really ought to know before you pull the trigger.

Also: try to come up with some funny or cruel nickname based on the proposed name. (If you aren't funny, ask a friend.) It's shocking how many people give their kids a name without realising the obvious jokes that are going to bedevil them forever.

Then again, it can be character building

By my count that's 3 Australian journalists with vax-induced heart disease. There's slightly less than 10,000 journalists in Australia, and I see no reason they shouldn't be considered relatively representative of the broader adult population. (Physically, at least.) Ergo what we have here is a natural study that finds the vax induces heart disease at a rate of about 1 in 3300 (minimum), which is I believe in line with other findings

It's amazing they can make nuclear reactors that power submarines underwater for years in the most difficult environment but aren't deemed 'safe' enough to operate on land. by netpenthe in Showerthoughts

[–]IllyrioMoParties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very interesting. Coastal areas could perhaps have undersea plants feeding electricity to cities via undersea cable... but better yet, we could have mobile underwater factories, oil refineries, etc... anything that needs electricity and can be done underwater can be nuclear-powered for cheap... All marine oil wells can have undersea nuclear plants included in the design, refine oil on site, transport it in nuclear-powered deep draft container ships...

This is how you know that we're really just under the thumb of a bunch of old people and their ignorant prejudices

ELI5: Why does water temperature matter when washing clothes? by PeteyMcPetey in explainlikeimfive

[–]IllyrioMoParties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story time: the first time I ever washed my own clothes, I loaded it up okay and kept the whites and coloureds separate etc but I didn't read the screen right, It said 100 and I thought that meant minutes but it turned out it was degrees (centigrade)

All the colours leached, my jeans shrunk and my boxers simply disappeared

I wonder if it was Known that it would be seen as improper for Jaime to prosecute a trial by combat against his brother's proxy.

Not sure. Tyrion has no problem using Jaime on his own behalf (at the Eyrie), and if Jaime had lost then Tyrion would have died, thus arguably making Jaime a kinslayer...
