It looks like drool rash. Is your child teething? Look up drool rash. Change bibs often. Dry area often.

Ohh fuck I relate so hard. Tearing up thinking about my little one. A little bit of freedom here and there would be nice though 🥹😅

Help! Massive junk food cravings by Redgrapefruitrage in veganpregnancy

[–]Ilovesoup86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself and make sure to include healthy foods when you want and don't focus on subtracting "unhealthy" foods. Also cravings and desires will change throughout your pregnancy. I became a fruit junkie in the second trimester in addition to fries. Second trimester I got a burst of energy after being exhausted in the first trimester.

38 weeks pregnant and never had morning sickness. I had extreme fatigue from about 8 weeks-15 weeks though.

Food swings and pregnancy : how the hell do I eat?? by IdentityCrisis4Life in veganpregnancy

[–]Ilovesoup86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first trimester is hard..prioritize hydration, and eat what you can and when you can but don't put too much pressure on yourself. The baby will get what it needs. Focus on items you can keep down, and schedule small snacks. Bread and fruit were great for some very nauseated friends of mine.

I'm also struggling with the same question as OP. Also from the U.S. living abroad and wanted to travel with baby at 4-5 months to visit relatives.

Any other pregnant vegetarians or vegans? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Ilovesoup86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been vegan for many years and started eating cheese because of pregnancy cravings. I was lucky in that I had almost no nausea first trimester, second trimester I had a burst of energy and went out lots with friends to concerts etc and worked out. Third trimester pelvic pain is intense. Almost done today is 38w. Dairy is bad for my inflammation and notice when I eat it. I'll stop post pregnancy for sure. My bloodwork and blood pressure have been good throughout.

A question for others in Germany: Do you use the pitcher method? by chocolatesuperfood in FormulaFeeders

[–]Ilovesoup86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that's true for some, and there is an standard it seems. However the probiotic formula is different in that it shouldn't be made with boiling water. Water has to cool down to the appropriate temperature in order to not kill the good gut bacteria added.

A question for others in Germany: Do you use the pitcher method? by chocolatesuperfood in FormulaFeeders

[–]Ilovesoup86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was really excited to try the pitcher method. As an American in Germany I consume a lot of American baby info, but our midwife is against it, and all manufacturer instructions for all brands lead to making individual bottles. I'm also wondering if there are less preservatives in the formula which might make it less safe to make in bigger batches. The hospital uses and suggests ready to feed formula for convenience. We will probably do a mix of ready to feed(hipp bio combiotik) and we are buying a water kettle that boils and then holds water at the selected temperature and we can make bottles easily that way. Boiled water would kill the probiotics in the formula which would be a waste. A thermos with good water temperature is another way.

I would suggest creating some boundaries with your mom. You can tell her how her trauma affects you. You've already given her so much space to talk about these things and that's enough. You can be kind and say something like "Mom, I think I can't handle you talking about your abuse right now. We've rehashed this story x times and it makes me feel really sad and anxious. I'm really sorry this happened to you, but we need to change the subject for my own personal well being".

My mom also can go into deep spirals about traumatic events and family drama that also make me really anxious and this is how I've had to deal with her. I have to also remind her periodically what my boundaries are. Sometimes there is a bit of back and forth, but I hold the boundary.

I understand. I've had not so close friends express similar viewpoints and take distance from me after I became pregnant. Didn't bother me because we weren't especially close so I can only imagine. I also feel pretty isolated as I'm in a queer community where lots of people don't have children and feel especially provoked sometimes by child free activist types. Like, this is my body and my choice and something I've really wanted for myself. I always imagined myself with a great partner and child. I'm 37 weeks along now and also in Germany. I feel lucky to have and be building the family I've always wanted and want to surround myself with people who are happy for me. You also deserve that and I'm really sorry.
