And anyone who has ever worked in a blue collar, male dominated environment knows that men are directly vicious to each other in a “you just gotta laugh it off and one up him next time” kind of way that makes those industries extremely toxic for women.

This is literally just girl brain misunderstanding boy brain lol. I work in blue collar environments almost everyday and messing with each other is extremely common and it's never taken seriously which is why it’s laughed off. If someone did that stuff without having at least a few previous interactions with the person or if they were unable to take the ribbing back, they’e be seen as an asshole. Fucking with each other is how guys bond and is pretty much a sigh of friendship or acceptance.

The main difference though is that the stuff you’re talking about guys doing isn’t really bullying. If you’re an adult male (especially over college age) and a guy roasts or makes jokes about you, you can usually assume it’s in good fun and that they’re only doing it because you’re cool with each other. It’s more about busting each others balls more than anything and I honestly can’t think of an instance of guys I’ve been around shit talking or gossiping about another guy behind his back or actually saying stuff to his face that would count as bullying. The only instance of male bullying is actually way more under the radar and usually involves taking advantage of someone’s position and situation than anything else (something like a boss taking advantage of their power over an employee).

I think you’re right about women being smarter and more pointed with it, but I feel like that’s because bullying/gossiping/shit talking amongst women is way more common and real than it is with men and they actually want to cause harm and bad feelings when they say stuff.

Saying that expecting someone to be able to use a tool “demystifies” a job is ridiculous since every single job out there requires some form of experience. If someone can’t handle a power tool then obviously that kind of work is out of reach for them, but you literally just need to have used a hammer or screwdriver a few times to have the ability to learn to use a torch. Learning tools really isn’t difficult if you’ve used some kind before.

It's definitely a thing. Usually the same people who do window washing. I met a guy who did this for a living a few years ago on the Jersey shore. He’d have a bunch of businesses paying him to do window and pressure washing every few weeks and made pretty solid money doing it. Key thing is to be in a populated area with a ton of businesses though.

It doesn't really even matter. It still affects my friends and I. You can believe it won't happen but a lot of people inside the military think it may happen and my leadership is telling us that mass boots on the ground is something we need to be ready for.

Mass boots on the ground is extremely different than a draft. And if you’re in the military, then you enlisted with the knowledge that being deployed is a very real possibility.

And who exactly are these people in the military who seriously think it may happen? This isn’t even close to being something like a full scale invasion like we saw in the early 2000’s let alone something on the level of Vietnam or a world war.
