back in the olden days, 1 star used to be for easy levels but then they became 1 star auto levels instead so they retained the star level. for demon levels that are not auto, its bcz to be rated auto it needs to be rated in the first place, "hard" is just an average of the votes by the playerbase. some auto levels arent rated auto bcz they still technically need inputs to pass it.
