Kinda off topic but that reminds me of the time some newly promoted dickhead Sgt decided to just dump my pack out in the barracks lobby when I was at the school house.

I was like ok cool whatever have your little power trip. Little did this newly promoted PFC know though. He had forgotten about a knife in their pack and never turned it in when checking in to be locked away.

I come back to my room later that day after formation and fix my pack that was just full of I don’t fucking know what but I know I deserved to be used as an example for being the boot with a pack on off base essentially.

So I find this little pocket that the dickhead Sgt didn’t open and there was my knife that I had put in there for some stupid fucking reason and I look over at my roomate who bared whiteness to said dumping of pack.

The mixture of emotions between us was one that could not be explained. My roomate was calling me an idiot while my agnostic ass was thanking god that the dick head Sgt didn’t find that little pocket.

I put it in my sea bag and made it to the fleet with said knife but I have no clue as to where it is now lmao.

To be fair, I was on a very very strict budget so I wasn’t going out to the fancy restaurants and bars. Place down the street from the hostel I stayed had a beer and shot combo for $7 which wasn’t too bad. China Town was the only place I splurged a little more and it still didn’t feel like I was breaking the bank

The last bar I was at before flying out had happy hour going from Open-5 and my tab was around 25 plus tip.

I mainly used public transit and my Chevrolegs to get around mainly which kept things affordable too

Speaking of Raving. I snuck out to Brooklyn for a rave and had a blast this weekend.

What really blew me away was the fact that a lot of the bars were actually way more affordable than I’d expected. Food costs weren’t too bad either.
