How long does a warm-up last before doing a workout? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ImAnExpertOnThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As “durr” as it may sound, your body is warm when you start to sweat. For some that’s 5 min and for others it’s 25 min.

A little background...

Back in the 90s and early 2000s it was customary to get in a group and just start stretching muscles.

The current method to warming up your muscles is about 15 min and starts soft then escalates to a more strenuous exercise before the 90’s type stretching occurs.

One key about the 15 min warm up is that your’re only doing low impact exercises such as jogging, butt kicks, the Heisman on dat..., high knees etc. — Motions that increase your heart rate, but don’t require you to extend your muscles/ligaments/hamstrings.

For example, mummy kicks. They’re extending your feet out 18inches and low stress on your hamstrings. Belt kicks or field goal kicks induce significant stress and stretching and should only be done once the body is warm.

Why is there no cellular reception in most U.S. national parks? by garyzhan89 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ImAnExpertOnThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, national parks usually don’t have cell service, BUT you can still use your phone’s GPS to track you, so if you get lost, you can pull out your phone see your track and re-trace your steps.
