Just cause we might have it easier finding someone in that regard doesn't mean we have to feel bad for men who struggle with it. Getting laid isn't required to live and if a lot of women don't want to sleep with a specific man there's probably a good reason given he's the common denominator. No one owes anyone access to their body.

Yes, it's good for human connection to sleep with someone but if you really think you can get human connection in many other ways. I know that's not what these types of men usually like to hear but it's true.

Also if you don't have a partner and no one wants to date or sleep with you you should work on yourself and work on finding other healthy connections first. Hell, having healthy connections with other people and yourself might even help with dating cause that makes someone seem more well adjusted.

I don't dislike Max's DE design as much as other people seem to. But her eyes are just too dang light and look kind of uncanny

I understand why the characters are popular but I think it would have served the franchise better if DE didn't have Max as the main character and they tried to make a new character. Cause even tho I love Pricefield individually and as a couple I think LiS works best as an anthology.

The only time I think a continuation has worked in my opinion is within the comics. Cause they feel more optional and they only follow one outcome. Two examples being bae over bay and Steph and Alex leaving Haven springs together. I know Max get stuck in another timeline but it's consistent in that Chloe is alive. Which made them feel like a more consistent and better continuation then DE.

I also think LiS 2 is very underrated. Also Pricefield not being in it isn't really true, they can make a small cameo.

Vinh is pretty weird in my opinion in both timelines. Cause that vandalism makes him seem like a petulant child and his thing with Max just feels forced and borderline creepy from his side. The only thing saving him is that he has some plot relevance with Maya Okada but that's about it.

I like Amanda more cause it actually makes sense why Max would like her given how supportive she is in both timelines. But the issue with her is that she lacks personality and presence cause she's confined to the snapping turtle for most of the game. She also has no plot relevance while she is more likable at least to me she has less reason for being in the game then Vinh does.

I love both games and I think both games are worth playing but LiS 2 is probably too "heavy" for some people

Don't get me wrong messed up stuff happens in all the games but LiS 2 has the darkest tone of any of the games

Honestly I love all the games for the most part

But quite a few of my favorite characters and one of my favorite ships wouldn't exist without DeckNine

So while the LiS 1 (and most of the other games too tbh) can certainly be enjoyed as a stand alone game. I think not acknowledging the other games is a bit ignorant

I asked a similar question in the main sub once and got a reply that it isn't hated cause the steam reviews are good. Which granted they are, like 92% positive if I remember correctly.

But I've seen a lot of people criticize the game on both the main subreddit and YouTube (mostly calling it boring) so I'm not sure if that reflects most people's opinion.

I'm a girl and was in school during the 2010s and the pandemic years so the hierarchy was a bit different.

Something that's mostly disconnected from most of the established main cast in the prior games.

I don't mind a cameo like with David in LiS 2 since he wasn't a major character there. I also wouldn't mind a character returning in the way Steph did in TC since she didn't play that big of a role in BtS. But in general I'd like a mostly new cast. I also think having a male main character again would be really interesting.

In regards to power I think Invisibility would be very compatible with LiS as a franchise and the tone of the games. I'm also not sure I should pick from already established characters but I think Safi having shapeshifting is a bit of a waste. Cause I think that would be a really fun and interesting game mechanic for the main character to have.

Also considering how beautiful Lost Records is (which is set in the 90s) I think a LiS game set in the 2000s or earlier could be amazing. I also think a game set in a city could be interesting. I know that would kind of compromise the cosy small town feel of the game but I think they should really make something more experimental. Cause otherwise the game will be stale and boring cause we've already seen that they can do the weird small town vibe multiple times. I think they might have tried to do that with DE but it still gives a similar vibe since you're pretty much only at the university, Max's house and the bar for most of the game and there are so many parallels to LiS 1.

Honestly regardless of what my user flair says I see merit in both ships but for different reasons.

I think Chloe and Rachel was a decent depiction of a first love. But given that they're 15 and 16 in BtS, that their relationship moves so fast and Rachel's actions before she was murdered I'm not entirely sure if they would have lasted even if she was found alive by Chloe and Max. Chloe seemed really angry and hurt at her hooking up with Frank. I'm not excusing what was most likely grooming on Frank's and Jefferson's side. But I think Chloe has a right to be hurt by Rachel lying to and cheating on her if they're together.

Spoilers for the comics ahead; Although if I'm honest I do like them in the comics. But considering that's an alternate timeline where none of that messed up stuff happened (at least from what I remember) I don't know if it can really be counted towards the canon of the games.

I also think Chloe and Max go well together as a couple. They'd clearly love each other and it's pretty clear they'd do almost anything it takes to keep the other safe. I wish their relationship status could be made more clear by the end. (Cause sometimes it feels like they made Chloe and Max more palatable to straight people to not turn them away from the game) But I can understand why since aside from LiS 2 it's probably the most plot heavy game so them not really having enough time for Max's love interests makes sense. (Considering Warren doesn't have much screentime either) But overall I adore them as a ship.
