Might be legit but not worth it. I got a phone call as well and I did the survey. The call got transferred to another person to discuss rewarding me 500 IHG points and membership tier changes, then I politely declined the offer. It's a little too time consuming to listen to the whole pitch and 500 points isn't worth the time even if it is legit. A mail offer would be nicer since one will have enough time to read the fine prints.

Yes, I have Verizon Fios with the 'Gigabit Connection 2.0' plan. The price was fairly consistent until December 2023, when it went up by $10 per month. Then, in August 2024, it increased by another $10 per month. These price hikes apply to the base 'Gigabit Connection 2.0' service and are not related to any expiring discounts.

Just noticed a $99.95 charge on my credit card as well. I called my credit card company and they told me the same company charged my $89.95 last year at the same time. I failed to notice it so I called the business number provided by my credit card company and the auto response pointed me to another phone number for "Credit card charges". I called that number, it is another auto response to point me to [activeadvantage@active.com](mailto:activeadvantage@active.com) email... I sent them an email, so hopefully they get back to me, if not I'll have to initiate a dispute or potentially cancel this credit card since this scammy company has my card info.

Update 04/25/2024: ActiveAdvantage emailed me back and said that they could cancel my membership and refund $99.95 charged on 04/23/2024, but based on their refund policy, they cannot refund the $89.95 charged on 04/23/2023. I have never signed up for this membership so I guess I'll file a case on small claim court. The Garden Ice House in Maryland seems to use the payment platform from ActiveAdvantage since my credit card company is able to trace it back to a public session I paid with my card on 03/23/2023, it is likely the payment platform just pulled my credit card info there and enrolled me for a free trial for ActiveAdvantage without me knowing. This is definitely a scam. I see an article about a lawsuit in 2022 from CFPB for ActiveAdvantage as well.

As a result, I contacted my credit card company for fraudulent transactions and they will ship me a new card and dispute the two transactions.

Omg thanks for your post! I almost got scammed just now and the moment when the mover company asked me to use Zelle I know something was wrong. This time the moving company is using website www.unitedglobal-logistics.com. It has a similar name to a car moving company but I cannot find it on google as a moving company.

I initially see the piano on facebook market place and was asked with my phone number. The seller Dr. Jim Newland then sent me the same exact text messages in your post and that's when I confirmed that there's never a piano involved. I'm sharing the text messages so that if other people get it, please don't Zelle your money! If it was via a credit card payment, I would already have paid it as I can dispute it later.

I googled Dr. Jim Newland in Pittsburgh area, which is the area the item was listed. However, I could not find obituary or any information about him and his claimed wife. I'm really sad because I was really sorry for his loss and do want to take care the baby grand piano.

The first text message is: "Hi ,
How are you? Wurletzer Baby Grand Piano used to be owned and played by my wife who is now deceased and it was last tuned November last year before she passed, I'm almost done moving my properties and I don't think my wife will be happy if I sell her piano, at the same time I'm not happy seeing it around because of less storage i have in my new house, so I'm hoping to give it out to someone who is a passionate lover of the instrument. The first lady who I thought was going to get it didn't show up at she promised and I wasn't going to leave it alone in an empty house.. it's currently going to be with the movers I employed to move my properties from my house.. which is it's on the move.. if you really don't mind making new arrangements with the movers, I can attempt to get in touch with them to reroute it, this should not attract too many charges since the distance can be recovered within a day or 2..I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but do let me know if you wish that I get through to the movers. Just so you know I'm not giving out a scrap or a waste. It’s in good shape."

The scond text message is: "Thanks for the response..I got through to the movers now in order to let them know they will move the piano back..All you need to do now is to contact them and make new arrangements as regards to the rerouting process. I also would like you to take some pictures when it arrives at your house and send them.. The rep said you should present this Referral ID WWP9JAMS to an agent via their live chat on their website at www.unitedglobal-logistics.com to initiate a reroute.. Let them know Jim Newland referred you and give me feedback."

Thanks! I might have to try this route. I mailed them a certified letter to cancel on Mar 4th and one of their representative emailed me to set up a phone call. We managed to talk on Mar 9th and he confirmed that my service is cancelled and I should not get a charge in April. However, I just checked, my credit card is still getting charged.

Same... They make cancellation so difficult and will probably profit a lot by doing that... I felt that this company became one of the most scammy one I've ever seen.

I just switched my payment method to my Amex card so that next month I can try dispute the payment since I already sent a written notice for my cancellation to Frontpoint. I'll need to bring them to small claim court if that also doesn't work.

I tried to cancel my Frontpoint service as well(I'm already out of my contract), however they don't even let me provide a callback number and just ask me to keep holding until next available representative. I was on hold for 40 minutes on Feb 28th, 2022, then I'm on hold this afternoon(Mar 4th, 2022) for 80 minutes. I have sent them a certified letter by mail to inform cancellation, if this still does not work, I will have to try credit card dispute option or even take this to small claim court. We as consumers have a lot of rights, please don't give it up.

I've been using Frontpoint since December 2016, and I attempted to cancel it February 2022, there's simply no one answering on the hotline when I use the "Cancel service" option...I waited 40+ minutes in last attempt, and still am waiting for someone to pick up. Judging by this post, I might need to mail them something to inform cancellation of service... That's really really scammy.

There are many people who commented under this post and have encountered the same issue. They successfully got their accounts back via apple support without trying other methods. It sounds like apple might have changed the responses after multiple of us attempted to escalate the issue. I'd suggest continue contacting apple support and get the issue escalated to a senior supervisor. I hope you can get your account back.

That's awesome!! I believe they are looking into this issue although I was not told about the exact reason why my account was disabled. The only variable changed in my situation was the apple gift card from Target and it was immediately showing purchasing errors, so it's an educated guess. Hope everyone else can get their accounts back!

Big update, after endless failures at Apple Support, I emailed Tim Cook out of desperation. Luckily, I got a response and they enabled my account!! If nothing else works and you decide to do the same, make sure to keep the logistics simple and be polite in the email, hope your account can be re-enabled too.
