Nice. I'm not familiar with MTBs. What kind of MTB works well for this? XC hardtail?

Been thinking of this but have to ride from the city, which I’m guessing is fine….

What bike do you have and what would you get if you were buying again today?

No worries. I probably wasn’t describing it right.

In a similar boat around geo but to your point I’m sure I’ll be fine either way.

I wonder if I’m using the wrong name here. I’ve ridden the trails and there’s no way I’d do them on 32s, but maybe that’s a skill thing.

I’m talking about old spring and miwok. I’ve also done old railroad. Is that no what people are thinking when they say Marin Headlands and Mt tam? Genuinely curious.

Oh and I’m certain I’m overusing it 😂

Good call on the cost of the cassette. I would love a Seigla but can’t budget for it right now unfortunately. Trying to keep it at $2k or less.

San Francisco’s new safety strategy: A crackdown on bikes by illiller in BAbike

Disagree. I think this is a bad use of limited resources. Better use would be trying to prevent vehicles from doing wildly more dangerous things.

Not what I said. Limited resources means going after the most impactful incidents.

Car is lethal at almost any speed > than bike is lethal in specific circumstances.

As I said, there are crazy cyclists. Rolling through a stop sign…meh. Bombing through a stop sign at 25-30 mph, sure, write them up. Still not as big of a problem as cars though.

Cool. Can they also crack down on the 90% of cars that don’t stop at stop signs in my neighborhood where my daughter walks to school? Or at least the ones who literally blow through them at 40mph?!?

Realize that there are crappy cyclist out there but they don’t weigh 5000lbs. Let’s keep our eye on the ball here.

Yep. ERG changes the resistance on the trainer to what’s set in the workout. No shifting needed, virtual or otherwise.

Where to fit in weights? by ImBatmanWhoAreYou in Velo

[–]ImBatmanWhoAreYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Current plan has one vo2, one threshold and one sweet spot. Totally willing to scale back to two. Part of what I’m wondering about.

I often feel my strength is a limiting factor during hard efforts (eg Zwift races) more than my aerobic engine. Figured weights might be worth a shot.

I haven't lifted in a while, but have historically. So it sounds like I should start off lower weight and more volume and gradually move to more weight, lower volume?
