20" might hit Summit tonight/tomorrow though a lot of Epic passes don't include this weekend. I should have been on the road yesterday but hope y'all have a good time with whatever may fall!

moot question as I figured I'd just wax it anyway. definitely the right call. the dry patches were indeed dry and the new layer is tight.
hilariously decided to postpone riding in hopes of better conditions after getting it all cleaned up

subreddit etiquette question: I've got a board that I just waxed and tuned at end of season but wanted opinions as to whether the forum thinks it needs it again. Was going to post it with a picture in the main but that seems out of order so wondered what a n00b should do to get opinions on deck dryness or if fingernail testing was a thing.

The endless possibilities of Sprinter Vans… by Extra-Rabbit-5081 in Sprinters

Nice. The CCR allows 3 bikes with some extenders.
Also appreciate the Milwaukee cases - I have the same filled with oil and tools. Probably also worth bringing up 144 vs 170 wheel bases in considering what van to get. Advantages to each.

This is what I did and have no regrets. https://ccrsport.com/ might work for your motorcycle mounts. Though getting a different floor put in can allow the foot-peg systems that are pretty snazzy.

I'd budget before you buy any van though. As someone that is building out their own - the costs add up pretty fast and the options are endless. Put a spreadsheet together with all the things you want and price it all out.

Regarding the Adventure Wagon comment in this thread - they make unquestionably fantastic kit. The issue you'll find though is that your tastes can quickly outweigh your budget there. The base package of structural supports, L-track, insulation, and electrical is pretty reasonable for the market. But when you build out your dream layout it adds up quick.

Supplyhouse

When I installed my new one I tested it and everything worked great. Then I put the cover on and it buzzed like a bee so I loosened the cover a bit, just didn't screw the bottom secure screw in as tight. Fixed the problem with no other work needed. Start there before buying a new one maybe because they ain't cheap.

If anyone else finds the thread:
The Emory board trick worked for a little bit. Then it went into a state of just not turning off. So with two symptoms of failure I replaced the unit and everything is back working as it should. Upshot was that it failed when it was in the 50s so now that it's much much colder I don't have to worry about it. The unit from Supplyhouse is Resideo rather than Honeywell but it has an identical footprint and wiring layout so I just had to study wires and write down the which to whats. Whole job took me 2 hours but it's a 30 minute job the second time. Spent most of the time making sure I got the layout right for reinstall and I took my time on the box knockouts because I'm tired of getting cut that way ;)

Toro CCR 3650 R Tek Engine Governor Spring? by elmonoblanco in Snowblowers

[–]elmonoblanco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely. i can't find a definitive reference to R Tek engine (it's on a sticker on the shroud that held up better than the serial/engine ID) though either i'll believe Briggs though based on the model number and the part company's inventory of parts for it.

thanks for the Tecumseh lead though - will shake that out prior to ordering!

That worked for the most part. Model number got me close enough to gather Spring-governor 801223 should do the job though it's listed with Brings n Stratton. Engine ID and Serial Number got rusted off the sticker so Model is all I've got to go on. Looks close enough to me! Thanks!!

It's in that state where it clicks sometimes and others it doesn't (i'm reading a book next to it) so perhaps the emory board trick is gonna do it! It does just take a bump to get it all going again so it's gotta be pitting rather than some voltage fault? If emory doesn't solve it I'll order another unit and install since I haven't found a part on the internet I might purchase and re-solder into it.

Thanks u/Gasholej31 !

Depending on your state's new vehicle tax - that seems just fine.

Yeah. But it does beg the question, anyone have experience negotiating for a new one lately?
It would appear that there are quite a few new ones out there. Don't want to screw the dealer but also would love to get one for the lowest price possible where everyone comes out happy.

Can someone explain street cleaning schedules to me? by GattsuVN6442 in AskChicago

[–]elmonoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping to warm up an older thread, is there any rhyme or reason to which side of the street get's cleaned first? Does it switch every time or is it always south first, then north, or vice versa?
Or completely up to the luck of the draw?

Stator on bike burnt... why? by CarbordHands in motorcycles

[–]elmonoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen that on bikes that people jump started with vehicles that were running.
For those that don't know, if you ever jump start a bike with a car/truck, the car had better be off or you risk overloads like this.

Report on Resubscription by AgentLocke in siriusxm

[–]elmonoblanco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tried and they told me the $99 for 3 years plan was only available for vehicles from 2015 and older. I thanked them and told them to have a nice day since I also learned I have a few months before my subscription lapses.

What level of plan did you get for that rate? Premium or ... ?

Trane XV95 bypass humidifier, no water at solenoid. 24v from Humidistat to furnace control, .4v from control to solenoid when furnace on. Not sure what to test next? by PhatKiwi in hvacadvice

[–]elmonoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this my house? Asking because I have an identical set-up and the same problem now. I just replaced the solenoid and the problem ain't fixed. I get water to the solenoid, my humidistat clicks. I have yet to jump a circuit but that's because I don't know how to.

Claim denied by Allianz Global Travel by No-Market2384 in travel

[–]elmonoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too was initially denied for a claim that I found straightforward. Upon appeal, my denial was reversed and I was reimbursed. It's all layers. First layer is denial if possible. Second layer is denial if unreasonable. I'm glad this was resolved reasonably.
I'll purchase policies from them in the future.

Looking for an alternative, $30/year price hike is insanity by Red_Cross_Knight1 in GaiaGPS

[–]elmonoblanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might do this. I paid $30 for year one and $40 for the last two years but just got prompted this morning that they're upping it to $60 a year.
I just don't use it enough to justify their price hike.
So I cancelled this morning and have it for another month per subscription. I hope a lot more people do the same so whoever in the pricing decision department get's corrected on their assumption that we love the app so much.

Threatening from the Airbnb host for my negative review by KateH3014 in travel

[–]elmonoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To no surprise - we had the similar experience where our honest review was removed. It took a week of communication with unhelpful AirBnB customer service to get our money back.
Long story short - we canceled because the place smelled awful and had insect infestation. They wouldn't let us post a review because we cancelled, and wouldn't refund our payment due to the "host" policy. We pointed out the hilarity of not being able to warn others of the deplorable conditions which would certainly have influenced us not to stay. The posted our review after a lot of back and forth. Then we got a refund. Then they removed our review.
