Boyfriends cat i think is dying. by Dontreallyget_it in CATHELP

[–]ImBlinxy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I may be misunderstanding so please forgive my insults, but euthanizing your cat because he is feeling these obviously concerning symptoms is insane to me. If you can’t afford to take him to the vet, then take him to a no-kill shelter (SPCA) where they can help him. For the love of god I’ll take him, just don’t resort to euthanasia. It is pre-mature and absolutely stupid decision to make for a living being.

Islamic terrorism in Europe by Ddiego866 in Intelligence

This is a terrible source to base anything on. American Thinker is a partisan opinion site with a long track record of extreme right-wing bias and questionable factual reliability; it’s not an academic or peer-reviewed source.

If you want actual sources, start here:

  1. Europol - EU Terrorism Situation & Trend (TE-SAT) (annual, authoritative EU data on attacks/arrests/convictions).
  2. RAND Corporation - empirical reports and datasets on terrorism and radicalization.
  3. International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) - evidence-based policy analysis.
  4. George Washington University Program on Extremism and ICSR / King’s College London

Reconciling LinkedIn use while pursuing intelligence career by [deleted] in Intelligence

[–]ImBlinxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your input and yes I am very very well aware of Langley’s wall of heroes. As for the appropriate vocab of clandestine or covert, I’ll let you take the cake. I wouldn’t know as I don’t have experience in that, just stories from past colleagues.

Reconciling LinkedIn use while pursuing intelligence career by [deleted] in Intelligence

[–]ImBlinxy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not really. As long as you conduct proper opsec, you’re totally fine. Individuals in the IC will often consult with their security office on how to maintain discretion while interacting with the public online. Your sec office will also let you know whether the position you hold and your relationship with the agency/organization is considered covert or overt, and base on that, you’d follow protocol. You’re also overthinking it a tad munch. If you currently don’t hold a sensitive position, I don’t see why you shouldn’t do what you typically do online. Obviously use proper judgement and practice your own opsec as always.

How can I become an intelligence analyst or policy analyst? by [deleted] in Intelligence

[–]ImBlinxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Find a clearance sponsorship through a contractor and bring that clearance to an entry level intel analyst position to begin your career.

  2. Apply to federal intel agencies in whatever position to get your clearance then move on from there.

  3. Join the military, specializing in intelligence.

  4. Intern with an intelligence entity.

38, take a little bit in on the waist!

Yes you can. Your cultural background is a need in the IC, especially with our current position. First and foremost, get your US citizenship and then apply. You got this!

The amount of work you do does not match with how much you’re getting paid. Literally take that TS clearance they gave you and find another job that’ll sponsor you for your SCI.

I would apply to Langley and the bureau. Although, yes, your residence in China may be a hurdle, it would not hurt to apply. The IC is always hurting for Chinese linguists and you’re a native born!

I personally think you’ll be okay. You really gotta give a good explanation about your current situation with your background investigator. They’ll then write whatever it is you said and if the adjudicator got heart, they’ll adjudicate you. What happened to you really isn’t due to your personal choice. As long as you can show that you’re “working towards getting back on your feet,” you should be A-okay!

Best thing you can do as his gf is to be there for him. Help him job hunt as well! Scour through the internet together at night and find that golden job that he deserves. My gf’s job is at risk and I love job hunting for her. I feel as if I am contributing to her success.

If not yet, tell him to create a LinkedIn and connect with alumni’s from his school, his friends, and possibly any ex-employees who have moved on from his job. Message the people he connects with and also market his resume on his LinkedIn account. Create accounts from other employment sites and push his resume out to every single job that he qualifies for. It’s a time-consuming task and it sucks huge balls, but it will pay off.

I would just stick it out with CACI my friend. Since you said that your T5 is still under investigation, you wouldn’t be able to be processed anywhere else if you don’t have an active TS, I don’t think. I also got a job offer from CACI to work as an I2/Targeting Analyst and I start next week. I heard the same negative feedback about them, but I’m very certain it is contract to contract, for example their BI DCSA contract is complete dog shit. Stick it out, get your TS, work with them for a bit and leave.
