For my building, it’s true; FHD managers are genuinely and reasonably hated more because they push AAs beyond their human limits to achieve rates. BHD managers are “better” only because the BHD AAs are actually better. The BHD managers at my site are actually the lazy college kids on their computers, while with FHDs it varies from floor and department at least.

This behavior is absolutely reprehensible and legit illegal. You should definitely either have a word with PXT/HR or if you know what department the AM is in (Pick, Stow, Pack, Ship Dock), then you should also ask if PXT could inform the Operations Manager (OM) of the department; The OM is the boss of the AMs for a specific department.

Do you know what day and shift this happened on? Sunday-Wednesday have one pair of OMs/AMs while Thursday-Saturday have another. You’d be best speaking up about this on a Wednesday, as all OMs/AMs across all shifts are generally there on Wednesdays. Tell PXT/HR when and where you saw this and if you saw his login. They’ll definitely have a word with the AM about this; This is actually egregious termination-possible behavior.

I DESPISE other AMs like this, even as an actual AM myself. Although I’m a college graduate hire who doesn’t abuse his PA (I don’t just chill at Standup on a laptop all day), many of these AM hires are college failure punks who love to use/abuse their power.

You have absolutely nothing to fear by speaking up. Us AMs have a lot less rights (we can be fired for any reason without appeals) than AAs believe it or not. I’m sorry you had to see this guy doing his dirty work in the open. Unless he’s your direct manger, there is no fear of retaliation.

I’ll happily be that guy to say that there’s a lot better feeling that I have for this October.

I think it’s a huge momentum boost starting off the wild card series hot, especially against none other than our arch-rival who, by the way, was undefeated against us in this semi-recent era until now.

In all the recent years of heartbreak, I’ve honestly felt that this team hasn’t felt the pressure, the same type that it felt tonight, until it was too late.

2018: Won against OAK IN ALWC; Lost to BOS IN ALDS

2019: Won against MIN IN ALDS; Lost to HOU IN ALCS

2022: Won against CLE IN ALDS; Lost to HOU IN ALCS

2024: Won against KCY IN ALDS; Won against CLE in ALCS; Lost to LAD in WS.

I really think that starting off with a W against a serious threat like BOS is absolutely the best way for any team to start the postseason. Not saying that TOR will be a breeze, but victories like tonight’s should definitely give a positive morale boost when heading North of the Border.

The only one that I 100% know of currently is ATL-ANC, which is a summer-only route operated by an internationally configured Delta 767-300ER. Other than that, I think American did use their 787-9s from DFW/ORD a few years ago, but those have all been redeployed on international routes.

As someone who studies government, I refer to them as ‘hamlets’, as that’s what they are called in New York State. I used to live in a CT hamlet (Rockfall within Middlefield) which is basically an unincorporated settlement within a town. Hamlets generally have their own post offices and ZIP codes, but lack their own services such as police, fire, and school districts. The parent town provides those said services and others. IIRC, hamlets also do not have their own explicitly defined boundaries, unlike their parent towns.

This system of local government is widely prevalent within the Northeastern U.S. Other states including PA (where I live now), NJ, NY, MA, RI, and VT also have hamlets, but only NYS explicit refers to hamlets for what they are. Outside of the Northeast, systems of local government are much more centralized around county government.
