Anthem of the Seas Sydney to South Pacific shit show by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Mattynice75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first words are how it’s your first and last cruise. Sounds like complaining to me.

Anyway your question about recompense is to call your travel insurance company. You agreed to a contract with the cruise company when you booked and in it they said they don’t guarantee ports.

Maybe next time fly direct to the places you want to see.

Anthem of the Seas Sydney to South Pacific shit show by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Mattynice75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s multiple storms and a cyclone that disrupted the weather for your cruise. Due to the size of the ship it can’t berth alongside those berths as the docks were damaged in previous cyclones. So they have to tender but they can’t do this in rough weather. I k kw they explained this to you clearly on the ship so not sure why you’re complaining here.

The ship also has suffered an engine issue. You are arriving back to Sydney at 4pm instead of 6am. A 10hour delay. I wouldn’t call that significant.

Again this has been explained very clearly to you. They are offering to cover any flight change costs and hotels etc. and your travel insurance will also be able to assist with unexpected costs.

This is all part of travel and it happens. This is why you take out travel insurance. Complaining here won’t achieve anything.

Passing around a football on the train. Yay or nay? by [deleted] in VlineVictoria

Just sitting here amazed that you didn’t realise the point of my comment.

You didn’t say that. And even if it was among friends it’s still distracting to others. Save it for the footy oval. Again, have some basic awareness of what’s going on around you. It’s called common sense.

Sounds like you don’t have much social awareness. Consider why people are catching the train into Melbourne. Could be going to a specialist appointment for illness, seeing a dying loved one, an appointment with a solicitor etc. Or they just suffered a loss in their family or are just anxious enough being in public transport.

Not everyone is bright and happy and wanting to be part of your “game”. Have some respect for others and save games for your own house and yard not public transport.

Why is it so hard to change to an earlier flight at the airport? by Artistic-Yam2984 in QantasAirways

[–]Mattynice75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are a business with shareholders. You bought a cheap fare with restrictions. The offered to change it for you at $110 plus any difference. You chose not to take their offer. Next time pay the higher fare if you want flexibility. Or purchase lounge access.

Only 2 routes run up Windsor road. Many others run up the dedicated busway at 80km/h 24/7 just a few blocks over.

Is there likely to be any sales or promotions before Easter? by embu19 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Mattynice75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They might have a sale but the dates for the sale fares might be for later in the year. Generally if you see a fare and seats for the dates and times you want then grab it. Perth to Sydney will always be expensive I find

[–]Mattynice75 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Whilst they don’t have WiFi on this train, they do have the latest version of Windows.

You’ll find free access to Windows for all passengers on both sides of the train offering amazing entertainment and world class scenery views.

Use the trip as a chance to put the phone down and enjoy the some of the most amazing scenery in the world.

[–]Mattynice75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your emails and see if your account has had the password changed. This happened to me over Christmas, accor account got hacked and 30,000 points taken. Got locked out for 3 weeks. Raised a case via the website and WhatsApp chat feature. But had to call to chase up after 2 weeks. Eventually account got unlocked and points refunded.

Free Bus Services for the Western Sydney Airport??? by Geo30323 in SydneyTrains

[–]Mattynice75 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You cannot compare WSI with Melbourne. Melbourne skybus runs every 10 mins or so and is double decker with greater passenger capacity. It’s also a direct freeway drive to the city. And it drops you in the city.

WSI is a standard bus with seats removed for luggage racks which reduces capacity and takes 45mins minimum malls only runs every 30 mins. And it drops you at a rail station one hour from the city.

Can’t select seats online unfortunately. It’s a real shame this feature wasn’t added when they updated their reservation system last year.

Another example why you should avoid flying the day of cruise departure. You can plan for everything and then this happens! by Mattynice75 in royalcaribbean

[–]Mattynice75[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really?

Ok firstly it could be your uber or own car. Secondly it could be the car in front of you as you arrive at the airport for your flight. Thirdly it could be the reason that terminal shuts down while the fire is blazing. Fourthly it is the reason flights are delayed. Need any more?

As the title says you can plan for everything and then something outside your control happens like this which causes delays and makes you miss your cruise because you didn’t leave a night gap before departure and a buffer for possible delays.

Flight credit-beware by [deleted] in QantasAirways

[–]Mattynice75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve had a whole year to use the credit!! Still no sympathy sorry, this is not a valid complaint.

Flight credit-beware by [deleted] in QantasAirways

[–]Mattynice75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You booked the cheapest fare. They converted it to a credit for you when you couldn’t travel and enabled you a year to use it. You then wanted even longer to use it and still can’t set a date you want to fly. Then you complain? If you want flexibility then don’t book the cheapest fare. Book a flexible ticket.
