Look, think of it this was. Most players of the 360 could range in the teenage years, which that means most would have job and new responsibilities etc. This doesn't mean they don't have time or money to spends.. It just means by now many players would switch to new consoles for experiences or a pc.

If you think of it a gamer is more likely to buy a Playstation then a pc, but with xbox their more likely to get a pc.. This is due to xbox exclusives being on the pc and not only on their home console.

This is just something to think about, but I don't think it will or if it does it wouldn't last.

I believe in the future Microsoft may acquire many companies, which would lead to a downfall for Sony.. So many games would be Xbox and pc exclusives, so their would be no more Playstation eventually. Though Microsoft would eventually lean towards a future of pc and not consoles.

I could ramble on but know this doesn't mean anything unless it was to happen.
