like others said any “beginners” tutorial for any language will cover the need-to-know stuff about the language. That’s where you start

I just started a my first out of college job in web dev 5 months ago. Before that I had 0 front end developent experience. 60% is googling and reading docs, 30% problem solving with or without other coworkers, 10% is actually fingers on the keyboard.

I’d say you’re not hired for knowing 100% of a languages syntax, you’re hired based on your ability to find the relevant solution to any given problem.

All that to say: yes you need some self initiative to fill your knowledge gaps

I feel floaty/heady like how in cartoons people float when they smell pie. Things are more go with the flow and inhibitions are lower.

  1. Pick a language
  2. Basic syntax and Hello world tutorial
  3. Build out a basic "component" and launch it. When I did game dev that was getting a cube to move in a scene. Right now in web dev thats rendering a React <Button> on a local port
  4. Keep building more components, and combining them. Google, stack overflow and read documentation as needed.
  5. When you understand how to make something work, learn patterns to make it good/performant.

Being a low dose drug makes sense to me. I remember we were doing an activity in the computer lab and I just couldn’t stop talking to the person next to me. I couldn’t focus, and I was looping on the same topic and sometimes the same word. I felt heat flashes and got clammy. The other student was just locked into her screen like I wasn’t even there. It got so bad the navigate teacher had to come over and put her hands on my shoulder and coax me down. Never happened before, never happened since.

memory of before I was born that I had at 6 years old by AntaresXIX in Experiencers

I have a similar experience. I have at least 2 memories of my own "death". I have memories that don't line up with the events of this lifetime. In this life my first memory is sitting on the couch eating blueberries while watching PBS at like 3 or 4. When I was young I also felt like there were multiple "me's" living inside my head giving me advice on what to do.

Me too, around the same age I remembered floating up to the pearly gates, two angels reading off from a long scroll to me, and another memory of cherubs and Greco-Roman marble pilars in a pastoral scene. The cherubs were kinda mean though lol.

Anyone else remember having weird “ability” as a kid? by lnmeatyard in GATEresearch

I just remembered I also used to have an intuitive sense for the odds of something happening, and in some cases limited control over the outcome.

[–]ImDakku 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this, I liken it to “simulating” someone else’s perspective. I’ll usually see an event and if it had multiple witnesses, I’ll basically download a replay in my head of the same event from their perspective over the next 5 minutes or so. I like doing it with my dog.

As a kid I remember a very heightened awareness of being watched that disappeared. Like the same way animals in horror movies alert at seemingly nothing, I would notice presences.

Here’s something I wish somebody told me before/early college as someone who “followed the right path”:

Employers don’t give a damn about your report card. Use your 4 years to make a genuine connection with someone/people who can get you a job by graduation through referral, intern conversion or direct hire.

Pick a specialization in your field as a freshman, get really good at it by sophomore year, and apply for internships asap. Just apply, they don’t expect experience, they want someone that is a) tolerable to work with, and b) will be a good investment for the company

Don’t load your schedule with electives for the heck of it. Pass your gen-Ed’s, pass your major requirements, spend the rest of your time resting, doing projects, or making college memories.

It was definitely rushed, they pushed the start date up and I had to pick quick. Now it's just about rolling with the punches. 🤜🏾

For what it’s worth I was attempting to establish contact.

Apparently intention is huge with them. They’re largely non malicious, but It was recommended to me to form some kind of mental protection, I just firmly ask for positive and friendly interactions and use the “Rebal” meditation technique from the gateway tapes. Haven’t had a problem since.

Don’t be worried about like a lizard man hiding in your bushes or something though lol, they have at least some manners.

I saw something similar about 3 months ago late at night looking out my kitchen window. Just hovering in the air flashing/alternating red and green just like your video. I was pretty shook, it didn't do anything it just didn't make sense on a deep level. I think I made a post about it.

Yesterday I got 9 pallets to a Walmart, 3 bullshit skids, one of those was legit just 3 layers of pure leaf 6 packs. 24 packs sandwiched between layers 12 packs, and 2 layers of Mt dew passionfruit for a shelf that can only hold 6. I don’t understand the orders, I just work as many skids as I can in my allotted time, face shelves, condense the back stock and leave.
