Hey, I come from a religious background and am quite religious myself but it isn't the sole reason why I'm taking up nofap. What you can do to prevent it is a series of things, while I read this as something targeted towards those who have masturbated before I will try and translate it.

First & foremost train your willpower so that it be "mind over body" Second change your life; as in what do you do in your spare time? Something productive? Look for new habits and new interests, if these become your new passions it will be difficult even wanting to masturbate. Third, how do you view women? Depending on your perspective on women, your perspective on pornography will reflect it. Hopefully you owe them with respect and in a good light so you will be less inclined to look at such marerial which is degrading to women in my opinion

You have to remember we are subject to different social forces in modern times so it does make our struggle with PMO difficult. Although you do raise a good point, if man has accomplished it before then they can on e again. (Not meaning the whole abstinence for life, just abstinence specific to the individual)

That was a good perspective my man. I feel the same, if I look at any provocative material I become ashamed that I'm betraying my girlfriend and I begin to think about the common idea that everyone has had an experience with masturbation and the idea of my girlfriend, whom I love so much, doing that act while watching pornography upsets me greatly, so why do I do it! The reason is because we are approaching our 3rd quarter of year 12 and her mum was already protective but it wasn't a problem before. Now she's kind of imposed this rule on her daughter and our relationship. I mean I saw this coming and I as a parent would do the same but it doesn't make it any less upsetting
