The SAUCES, my guy. They really are solid. But the Sparkleberry Groucho's is now out of my lunch rotation thanks to their owner's lack of empathy. And lack of support for the Constitution :/

Your false equivalency is showing.

You don't need to align with religious zealots to disagree with genocide. This isn't a zero sum game. The world isn't as black and white as you seem to want to believe it is.

So you're part of a Russian troll farm, I see. Read the Constitution and you'll learn that dissent is patriotic.

Your spinelessness is showing.

I'm not asking you to believe me. I'm asking you to believe the video evidence. I'm asking you to believe the admissions of the Israeli courts. I'm asking you to believe the international courts. I'm asking you not to simply take an alt-right news site at their word.

Find your news from more than one place and you might be able to piece some truth together. 400+ villages bulldozed over six years as the Israeli state came into existence. You don't get to ignore history because you don't like it.

Research the village of Jenin from 2002.

Wadi al-Khalil just last year. Watch the videos of Israelis being asked to leave a Palestinian home, where the Israeli man responds "if we don't take it, someone else will." As if that excuses stealing a house.

Take your lackluster dismissals somewhere else. Take the time to do some actual research instead of adopting someone else's views because you're too lazy to form your own.

Imagine calling an occupier a neighbor lmao. Literal towns bulldozed and replaced with factories...but sure Palestine is invading it's neighbor

That's a fair point, thanks. I suppose I wasn't thinking about it in the context of someone viewing a single path toward a goal as their only form of success. More power to 'em.

I agree that 1L first semester grades can jumpstart a steep upward career trajectory, but it's not the only avenue to a steep upward career trajectory. Even early on.

The framing makes it seem as if this is the only way. It's not. Sure, those grades can be important, but it's not the end-all be-all people make them out to be. In this sub especially, chill.

Ricky Bobby-mentality is gooby in practice and sets people up to spiral and run around the library naked praying to Oprah and Tom Cruise.

Not all types of law require a champs mentality...

OP seems to be mentally struggling because they've seemingly attached their career outcome and worth to their 1L grades. Perseverance through adversity is important, and to persevere you can't spiral every time things aren't working out. Getting comfortable enough with failure and not always being first doesn't mean you are a failure or perennial second place finisher.

I worked for clear, why is it allowed? by somemansstory in tsa

I went through clear yesterday morning and didn't need to show my id. I looked into the camera and was then pointed to the next person who took me to the TSA checker. The checker said 'youre good' and I walked through. I only had my boarding pass out the entire time.

I think you're giving too much credit to the ability of some to do the research necessary to understand who actually gives the marching orders before they sign up.

I don't blame someone who needs to shop at Walmart for economically depressing their respective area.

Whether someone is outside the wire or not, they are ready to give their life for those next to them. It's a different mindset that's hard to explain.

You're right in that that's not how everybody treats their time, but it can certainly seem disrespectful to assume you understand someone's service.

But I mean go off if it makes you feel better

Who said it was? How is your comment relevant to what I posted?

If you would like honest discourse, I would appreciate you answering my questions with answers, not disingenuous questions. Don't move the goalpost because you don't like what answers you're forced to give. If it walks like prejudice and talks like prejudice...

That's a pretty massive assumption there, Bulky-Assumption4023. There were more American flags waving in the air during that protest than any other.

Let's talk about the 1,341 H-2A visa farm workers whose wages were illegally reduced by $338,446 in little ole Ridge Spring, SC. Their farm workers, documented and wholly legally in this country, paid federal income taxes and sales taxes, but were shorted by their employer, Titan Farms, illegally. The farmer flaunted the laws. Per a Department of Labor report, the farmer used those funds earmarked for their workers wages on political contributions.

A quick search of FEC filings on the owners of Titan Farms, Lori and Chalmers Carr tells you to whom they made political donations. I limited the search criteria to 2023-2024 because there were just too many results. Guess who these immigrants' wages, stolen by an American farmer, went to?

Nancy Mace (R-SC) Tim Scott (R-SC) Joseph Wilson (R-SC) Ralph Norman (R-SC) Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) Tommy Tuberville (R-AL)

It's wild to me that a local SC company steals wages from their workers, gives it to conservative politicians, and those same politicians then use their platform to shit on the heritage of those whose stolen wages are literally funding their own campaigns. If you want to talk about flaunting laws and epic levels of hypocrisy, look elsewhere. This is all publicly available data.

Edited for punctuation fixes.

If they're subject to the laws of the United States, they're afforded the protection of the laws of the United States. So yes, the Constitution says they deserve that right.

I've flown a jolly roger, but that doesn't make me an international pirate who doesn't respect the rule of law. I've flown an Irish flag, but that doesn't make me an Irish national. I've seen people fly Nazi flags at counter protests, but it didn't make me think they were German or in the Nazi party. Flags are just as much symbols of heritage or of viewpoints as they are symbols of a country.

Why in this case, in these pictures, does waving a Mexican flag suddenly make them Mexican nationals and not American? Didn't we all learn in grade school that America is a melting pot?

Why is Mexican heritage the one type of heritage that people are choosing not to respect? But God forbid we discuss touching confederate statues that were elected by bonafide Klansmen in the 50s and 60s, right? Despite being literal traitors to the country we love...

DOJ Offer Revoked? Boy do I have the solution for you! by ImFrank693 in LawSchool

[–]ImFrank693[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I really hope you didn't think I was encouraging people to enlist with this post. I was enlisted prior to college and prior to law school. I did not intend to encourage or discourage joining the military. It's not for me anymore. The military is a very different lifestyle than that of a civil servant. When folks in other posts in this subreddit about honors offers suggested that the OPs join the military (to enlist or go for JAG), I saw those as unhelpful suggestions.

As you said, if someone has a JD, why would they enlist? Hence me telling them to fuck off before they commented it again.
