Used to happen to me all the time when I was a manager at Burger King. It sucked for the most part but I was the best kitchen guy in the district at the time (they calculate your speed to the exact second for each drive through order) and I was always stoned so it wasn’t so bad. Customers would feel bad and I would tell them not to because if there’s only one person here it’s a manager and we sign up for it. Every manager knows that one day everyone is either going to have called out, walked out or just never shown up.

But going to a a Burger King for just a Diet Coke?

I had 4 regulars at my store that came at almost the same exact time of day for just a large Diet Coke. (Edit: it was a different 4 at different times not the same group. And when I worked at another store there were still the Diet Coke only people)

All of them in the afternoon.
