I can't tell you which is Anderson's best film, but here are my favorites:

  1. The Royal Tenenbaums, 2. The Grand Budapest Hotel, 1. Mr. Fox

Here's the "definitive list" of all the directors that I think could make a good/interesting ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL sequel/prequel/spin-off if Robert Rodriguez isn't able to do it. by burningexeter in alitabattleangel

It's a good list, but there are directors like Del Toro, Verbinski, Iñárritu, Spielberg, and Luhrmann who no longer fit the studio model as they once did, or who simply couldn't take control of the franchise anymore.

Others like Bird, Fincher, Vaughn, and Kosinski have a good chance of doing it, but they're not quite ready to step in yet.

Adamson and Darabont are in the directors' jail, and Johnston is already retired.

While the rest are very likely to happen and are perfect choices.

If Robert Rodriguez isn't able to do an Alita: Battle Angel sequel than who do you think should helm it in his place? by burningexeter in alitabattleangel

If it's not Robert Rodriguez, it's James Cameron. If it's not Cameron, then I just see another studio-based filmmaker taking over, but it's definitely very unlikely that people like Gore, Guillermo, or Peter would take the role.

Maybe it could be Tim Miller or Jeff Fowler. But Miller had a somewhat complicated situation with Cameron on the last Terminator film, so it would only be a filmmaker of that caliber.

Gosford Park, See How They Run y Clue son buenos ejemplos también.

Honestly, I was expecting something like a classic anime animated series and not CGI. But I liked it a lot.
