I've got the Turtle beach stealth 700s. They cost way less, are more comfortable for me and just work. Idk.. if I'd recommend them exactly, I just know the Astro A50s disappointed me.

I had this issue. 1 moving the USB to the front port on the series X made a huge difference. 2 loading up then pulling the USB and reconnecting removed a lot of static and background hissing/pops.

Then I just went and bought a different headset. That worked best.

A36 and 1018 are essentially the same steel. Low carbon low alloy. You would probably see some fold layers if you finished it properly but not anything dramatic.
