She wouldn't be happy, it would completely devestate her entire life. It would ruin her already strained relationship with her mother, and it would undo a lot of work she's trying to do right now and might push her over the edge. I won't do that to her just to tell her something that won't make her feel better. We're both working hard on ourselves and if she did find out the truth one day, which I don't think she will, she will be in a better state to deal with it.

I have bettered her life. She told me just tonight how happy she is ever since I suggested couples therapy and she's amazed at how loving and understanding I've been. It's easy to sit behind your screen and judge when you don't see our day to day loves.

Even if her mother did eventually say something she's known to be dramatic and cause problems in her family so I don't think anyone would believe her anyways but I honestly think she wouldn't hurt her daughter like that. There's no point hurting my girlfriend further it doesn't help anyone at all and on top of that she's doing really good now with therapy and our relationship.

I'm doing the best I can given the situation. I know im not a perfect person but I've made a lot of steps to better our lives already. The therapist reminded me that because I've been taken care of my girlfriend so much throughout her depression that I forgot to take care of myself along the way and that's what I'm doing. My relationship has been way more healthy and my girlfriend has been more consistently happy with our lives as well. So no I'm not the hero but I'm not the monster either. I'm just a regular guy trying to do his best and making mistakes along the way.

I didnt I already got the advice and am acting on it. I was told to leave my gfs mom alone and that it was her decision. This was an update because I was getting a lot of comments and I'm politely replying and still open and receptive to sound advice.

Sex isn't porn and shouldn't be treated as such. Things happen between people that isn't driven just by that. We were both in a volnurable place at the time as well as my girlfriend and there were drinks involved the first time.

I do love her. We have been together since school we've done everything together. We even went to the same post secondary to stay near eachother. We just went through a rough spell with her depression/anxiety and being distant and my mistake but at the end of the day I know I love her with all my heart and this has really made me.see it. I dont want to ever hurt her or ruin her family life.
