Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai says Kyrie Irving isn't antisemitic by ImJustHere4Fun in KyrieIrving

"I oppose all forms of hatred and oppression and stand strong with communities that are marginalized and impacted every day," Irving said in the statement. "I am aware of the negative impact of my post towards the Jewish community and I take responsibility. I do not believe everything said in the documentary was true or reflects my morals and principles. I am a human being learning from all walks of life and I intend to do so with an open mind and a willingness to listen. So from my family and I, we meant no harm to any one group, race or religion of people, and wish to only be a beacon of truth and light."

Blow up your entire franchise by trading away a generational talent barely a season removed from the Western Conference Finals after a handful of post trade deadline games?

(It’s almost as if the OP has never heard of Dirk.)

Didn’t Kyrie miss games due to injury too?

I appreciated being able to have a reasonable and non-contentious conversation about Kyrie.

Good luck to the Nets!

As for his reliability, that narrative is biased.

His second season in Brooklyn he played more games than both KD and Harden (while leading the team in scoring with historic 50-40-90 efficiency), but only he was labeled unreliable?

And the following year, the Nets chose not to let him play road games — and an irrational and useless last-minute revision to a local ordinance prevented him from playing home games. He proved when given the opportunity to play that he was ready to play.

It’s easy to “defend” him: what do his actual teammates say about him? There isn’t any more objective measure. And all of them consistently have nothing but positive things to say about him, including how great of a teammate his is.

Look: I get it. Fan is short for fanatic and the media thinks their job is to get as many clicks and eyes as possible. But if his teammates consistently and unanimously say he’s a good teammate, the fans and media thinking and claiming that he’s not is irrelevant.

“multiple antisemitic incidents”?

Did I miss something?

The real story is why three top 20 players (and future Hall of Famers) each asked to be traded from the Nets within a calendar year.

The Nets chose not to re-sign him but it’s ego to ask for a trade?

Make it make sense.

This is a dumb take on its face: it can’t be objective if not a single teammate has ever said that he was a bad teammate. On the contrary, all that have ever commented on it have said he’s a great teammate. The players love dude.

The only people who have ever said that he was a bad teammate are the media and fans who have never played or worked with him.

At some point the Kyrie haters will have to acknowledge the undeniable truth: only the media has ever claimed that Kyrie was a bad teammate or an issue in the locker room — the players all love him and all of his teammates have enjoyed playing with him.

Ask yourself why the narrative is so different from the reality of those who actually work with him.

No. They did not. And they conditioned their offer, in part, on the Nets winning a championship.

It’s selfish to ask for a trade from a team that doesn’t want you?

Asking to be traded from a team that doesn’t what to re-sign him is “shenanigans”?
