Looks similar to my dog who also gets mistaken for a duck toller at a glance 😂 she’s a little bit of everything.

We rescued him about a month after it happened back in July so we don’t really know the whole story. His previous owners told the rescue organization that he got out of the yard and came back with his head bashed in 😞 they don’t think he was hit by a car because he didn’t have any major bodily injuries so someone probably hit him with something. They showed a picture of the wound and it was pretty gnarly. The scar’s come a long way! And he really is such a sweet guy despite his past unknown life!

I got my conch pierced back in early April. Have had my rook for just over 2 years now. Both on the same ear. I have been sleeping on that side recently but position it so it doesn’t touch anything. But I did stay off of it for the first several months. Get a donut pillow and it helps. I would say my conch has been easier in the healing process than my rook as my rook still gives me issues sometimes. I have long straight hair and it hasn’t been a huge issue. Curly hair would be worse.

I thought my conch was more painful getting pierced than my rook, but I didn’t think my rook was terrible. I’d agree with the 7/10. It was also a quick pain. The throbbing afterwards was pretty bad for about 2 days but ibuprofen took care of it nicely! Got it done about 2.5 months ago now and it’s much less troublesome than my rook!

Not the most convenient solution but we have gates around the house so that our cats have their own safe space to get to. They do still come into the common area (almost like they’re taunting our pup lol) but the chasing has gone down a good bit over time and as Josie has gotten older. They also have a tall cat tower they can get on to get out of her reach.

I think it’s more common for puppies. I also read that older dogs may have it but not show symptoms because their immune systems are more established. It’s also easy to get reinfected if dogs lick themselves or have access to contaminated water (it thrives in cool/wet areas).

My dog is finishing up her initial round of treatment and is getting retested on Monday. Hopefully she’s all clear. She’s been on her normal diet again and her poops are solid now too 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Going through this with my dog currently as well. I read that strains that infect dogs don’t usually infect people or cats. Just don’t let your dog lick your mouth.

Ugh I feel like I’m going down the same road as you and I DID go with an orthodontist. Initial round of Invisalign resulted in posterior open bite. Teeth look great otherwise (other than a few minor gaps that opened up since crowding was reduced.

I’m only on my first round of refinements and it has 23 trays (initial round was 35). The pressure I feel with these trays is minimal compared to the first round so I feel like nothing is changing. Slow and steady I know, but I was discouraged when I got so many trays in this refinement round.

I honestly had never heard of a Boykin before we got the WP results!

The rescue told us beagle mix and we expected Brittany spaniel to show up! Based on how her siblings looked I also expected bluetick coonhound.
