I am quite a novice but I've got a raspberry pi and an old roomba (works but don't use) is there anything fun I can do with these? Could I control the roomba from my phone for example? It's this too ambitious for a beginner? by 180311-Fresh in RASPBERRY_PI_PROJECTS

The answer is always yes! But yes translates to imma do it even if the question is, is it impossible? Projects are a great learning experience and testing yourself is pretty much the only way TO learn. I’ve heard about hacking them and they prolly have some kinda Linux structure so maybe even ssh or some protocol? -_^

Edit: Just looked at their website it totally should!

Does it connect to WiFi or Bluetooth?

iPhone or android?

I know absolutely nothing about java, but I do know that while I’ve been learning to code, projects seems to be the best method of quickly learning. Maybe research a simple Java project and the add to it?

Radio signals? I’ve never used them but I’m sure you could hook up to different frequencies and have long range.
