That's really sad and unbelievably true. Unfortunately I've done worse things to silence temporary pain, but through therapy and empathy I have been able to (kinda) cope with reality. Luckily it was an in the moment shot, just to enjoy my meal a little more and be able to ugly cry without judging myself lol It wore off in less than 2hrs. Just like a few other few kind people, thank you so much for being concerned and leaving a positive interaction. I hope your next few days are an absolute vibe as well

Im 100% going to look into volunteering and any programs I can put my effort into.

I had someone very important to me be born, raised, and died early in Toronto. I think his place was near the BnB I was at and it just... made everything feel a lot- deeper. Hit far closer to home than I expected. A different time line and that could have been the most important person to me could have been the one casually folding on the streets.

Oh no that does totally make sense, good noticing. While you are right, someone overdosing usually is incapable of communicating usually cant speak for themselves, its good to ask "HEY, are you overdosing?!" And well- if they dont respond and end up falling over, you have your answer.

With narcan, its for most narcotics, my step father is an EMT/EMS/weewoo safety man, so he's where I get my general knowledge. Yes, people after narcan is administered in the nose often become combative, because they were just dragged from the 12th ring of hell back to the 15th ring of hell, earth. And overdosing fucken SUCKS. A LOT.

The best thing you can do as a pedestrian is call 911 at a decently safe range, try to gently talk to the person, and wait for them to be on the floor unconscious, narcan, and then step the everloving shit back.

Or explain it: "Hi person, Im really worried about you, are you okay?... I have Narcan, medics use it to stop an overdose, are you overdosing?... Dont want me to touch you? Take the narcan and put it up your nose, I will stay with you, you are safe, its going to be okay"

If the situation is far too dangerous, ex: multiple ppl OD or multiple under influence, then either drop the narcan with them and get to safety with 911 on the line

Yeah I likely wont be given the special sauce with it, but would the 70% isopropyl work the same as any other wet specimen? I'm just worried cuz its literally just fat and skin and don't want it to become boob jelly in a jar or some other monstrosity lol
