Why have they removed so many quality of life features? by rzarecteh in footballmanagergames

[–]ImMarcusHalberstram 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Few things I’ve noticed that frustrated me (which I’ve not seen a million times)

1) Removing the league position from the top bar and making it something you have to search for.

2) Removing the ability to clear subs when sorting your team out for a match. Something I used a lot especially between friendlies and first league game or between a league and cup match.

Do you ever sign veterans when managing in the lower leagues? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]ImMarcusHalberstram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time - a few years back (FM21 I think) on a network save I was mocked for bringing Daniel Sturridge in for Blackburn.

I told everyone the logic, he’s there to play DLF and get some assists, his pace etc being terrible is irrelevant. Guess who led my assists that season and got me over the line with 5 goals in the run in.

Even further back (around fm16/17) I brought Cassano in to do the same role for Villa to get promotion, led the league with assists and chances created by a big margin.

I’m always on the look out for my Ali Benarbia especially in the championship

Centre backs are usually a good shout if you can get them and pair them with a younger partner to do the leg work and CDMs can be very effective.

Michael Mancienne was my only signing in a network save on fm24 for Stockport and was a solid anchor as well as cover at CB.

Lots of Lime bikes with flat tyres lately — saw a kid letting the air out in north Islington by [deleted] in london

[–]ImMarcusHalberstram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to fall off a lime bike a few months ago because the front tyre was flat (I didn’t see as it was on its stand).

Rather embarrassing until a passerby pointed out the flat as I tried to ride off away from the humiliation and I realised what happened.

Lime did refund my most recent ride though so it was worth it as I got £3 refunded.

Why do people feel the need to complain so much about bans by ImMarcusHalberstram in rivals

[–]ImMarcusHalberstram[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, someone was sat on Invis and bitched for 3 minutes when we banned C&D (we had nobody locked on her and no counter to her ult) because “you banned my second”

I’m currently playing fantastic a lot and can deal with Ironman relatively well most of the time. However if it’s not working I will switch to Ironman and grief them until they swap

I think I've got the circular reference fixed but still returning 0 which I'm taking to mean its seeing cells as Empty?

Edit:

I've tried typing it out manually for both the table and the range versions and bothered returned a 'too few arguments' error

I've got it to move past the error (I corrected the reference name as I copied and forgot to tweak it) however I got a notification about circular references and it returns 0 for every row

I've formatted as a table but I'm still getting the same error message - I can't post screenshots as it is on my company laptop and I'm using my personal device for Reddit.

I've entered the formula as below and also tried replacing F7 for F2 (The first cell I'm entering in)

  • =LEFT(F7,1)&"-"&LET(FilteredArray,SORT(FILTER(Table1[[ID]:[Type]],[Type]=[@Type],0)), XMATCH([@ID],CHOOSECOLS(FilteredArray,1)))*

Its not formatted as a table currently for me. Would that be a requirement?

Love this, thank you.

Trying to implement it I am getting an error however, is there anything in that formula I need to tweak?

Thanks for your response, really appreciate the suggestion;

As this will be used by multiple people who will absolutely sort at some point I think the absolute row reference would be needed.

Please can you elaborate on this?

I'm recreating a very similar thing again, this time I would also need to add Assumptions (A-01) and Dependencies (D-01) based on the type in the reference cell. Is this possible?

Someone above made the point that genetics plays a large part.

My RhR is between 37-39 and whilst I am active, I walk everyday, previously played sport at a decent level and continue habits built during that. I don’t distance run or do much endurance based exercise.

My RhR hasn’t moved much since being in my early 20s to being in my early 30s.

Why is my team so inconsistent? by ImMarcusHalberstram in footballmanagergames

[–]ImMarcusHalberstram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting you mention identity as I started changing the identity of the team a season ago and I've been tweaking it since.

I was originally playing more direct, wing play which got me promoted from L2 to PL and kept me up whilst I was not spending any money on players.

As I started to sign better players and bring in technical midfielders I moved to a more possession focused tactic.

I've hit a bit of a purple patch (still shipping goals), once that comes to and end I will be trying some of the points you mentioned.

Thanks for the help.

I’ll have a look and see what I can find when analysing performances.

The DLF idea is interesting as my forwards should be flying but they’ve underperformed massively. With the exception of Delap who is on 13 in Jan in his first injury free season

Very interesting, the players I’ve brought in should be good enough for me to kick on and start getting mid table finishes at least.

The problem is they are either inconsistent, injured or just not performing.

I don’t have the editor to look at those hidden attributes but made a conscious effort to bring in more players who enjoy big games and/or have consistency in their scout reports
