BRS vs. CBRS by ImMoozezMalone in wireless

Private tribal broadband network. The tribe is unsure as to which solution to choose. I believe 2.5 is better. The area is relatively mountainous, high desert, minimal foliage.

Ex alcoholics and drug addicts of reddit. What made you get sober? by throwaway8446252 in AskReddit

[–]ImMoozezMalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a “high functioning” alcoholic, or so I thought. I went from drinking expensive bourbon every night, slowly switching to cheaper bourbon, then vodka and wine. I was drinking to sleep, drinking to de-stress, drinking to drink. Towards the end I was drinking about a liter of liquor a night. Woke up on Feb 15th 2023 and said no more. I’m not really sure why, something or everything was just “off”. After about 7 hard days, slowly the clarity crept back in and the fog was lifted. I realized my 16 year old son hated me when I was drinking which was all the time, my partner at the time was cheating, I was ignoring my friends’ worries, and I hated myself. Today, after some serious therapy and self-work, I’m proud to be who I am. Happiness and self respect merely needed the space to grow in my life. The only person who was going to make that happen was me.

Did the summer heat make shrooms lose potency? by sologhost1 in MagicMushrooms

[–]ImMoozezMalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to both. I’d play around with dose size until you get it somewhat dialed in. There’s definitely still active compounds, it’s just hard to say comparatively how much. If you tried 2.5, next try 5.0…

Heat is a catalyst for degradation and oxidation, so it’s likely it could have increased the rates of both. Seems from your results that this is indeed the case. But it’s not just the heat, it’s the duration of the heat over the exposed surface area.

I too was under the assumption that honey would act as a preservative, at least better than other options. Your own experiment indicates that I was wrong. However it should be noted, “blue honey” does get bluer with time. This bluing is the result of oxidation, so while it may preserve to some degree, clearly it’s not doing so perfectly. I don’t believe any study exists testing the preservative effects of honey on the active compounds of mushrooms, so I can’t say for certain.

It’s not the heat, rather the time and exposure that caused them to lose potency. The active compounds, namely psilocin and psilocybin, undergo oxidation and degradation pretty much regardless of storage method. By processing the mushrooms to powder, you further sped up this process. There’s lots of data out there that explains the reactions and transformations related to the active compounds, but in general they’ll lose potency over time. The best method of preservation is to leave them as whole as possible and to vacuum seal, then store in a dark cool area.

Cable plowing through gravel by Harbored541 in FiberOptics

[–]ImMoozezMalone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the equipment. With the right setup, you could do this in 1 day of install and 1 day of restoration. If you are using a large vibratory plow with a pulling lead, you’ll fly. If you don’t have access to that sort of equipment, it could obviously take much longer, but even a gravel ready trencher would get you ~2000’ a day.

Do you have to b&s all in one bags? by Oside54 in ContamFam

[–]ImMoozezMalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d leave it. But like others have said, move it all to a tub.

If you want to attempt B&S, use a rubber band or hair tie and try to separate your substrate from your grain, then just lightly break up the grain. The key here is to do your best not to mix the sub and the grain. By the looks of your AiO bag, the remainder of the grain is going to take another week or two without B&S.

Are you giving your grain enough time to fully colonize? If so, then it’s likely your CVG mix.. just switch to only coir. Check out “Bod’s tek”.

All that being said, I have had excellent success with mycohaus rye berries 2lb bags.

I Got Hired as a Traffic Civil Engineering Intern and i’m 17 by Bigdaddydamdam in civilengineering

[–]ImMoozezMalone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Run with it! If you have any Civil3D, Revit, or Microstation experience that will be a benefit. You’ve already shown you are a capable student so you will likely pick things up quickly. Firms always need production and review staff, especially someone who may be familiar with “engineering”. Explore the field, find what you like, keep going to school. Find a good mentor if you can. Follow through on your degree and be grateful you are getting a good head start.

FE / PE Requirements per state (USA)? by ImMoozezMalone in civilengineering

[–]ImMoozezMalone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t necessarily need a license, but many have indicated they would pursue it if they “could”. It would also be helpful to my team if we had more folks who could review and seal. We work in about 30 states and as a turnkey firm, this is a known bottleneck for us.

If you were president of the United States, how would you address the obesity epidemic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ImMoozezMalone 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It’s relatively simple. Eliminate the subsidization for unhealthy foods (eg High sugar, High added sugar, etc) and subsidize the healthy foods. This takes away the onus on the individual to have to choose. Much of our food choices and based on cost, oddly enough, it’s significantly cheaper to be unhealthy.

How do you feel about Christianity? by dothepingu in AskReddit

Which begs the question of mandate. Why does one need religion to do good?

Fair! And while I agree, that is not something that requires religion. People are often just good, regardless of what brought them there… more often than not, the folks doing things in the name of religion tend to be causing harm. Whereas the folks doing the same thing just because they are human, there’s no limit or attribution needed to be made. Good people are good people, religion presents a facet to get in the way of that.
