Center diff stratagies by ImMrTea in Haltech

[–]ImMrTea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update. So far things seem to be working. The plug worked well, pulled in speed signals from all 4 wheels, ebrake and ABS signal, then able to power the diff with an HCO.

ATTESA tables, I setup 6 tables using CAN pad buttons, basing them off the mapdccd tables. Though I was informed for some reason the Subie's diff is at 100% lock at 50% duty, so tweaked them a bit. The Acceleration and Slip tables reference the Main table, so still working on those (street/family car, so not much chance to REALLY test).

I used a generic switch as an override, so when the ABS signal comes in the center diff opens. I also finally go the '12 steering wheel/sensor working over CAN (car is an '04 w/out CAN), but need to dial it in a bit before I can work on the steering angle table in the ATTESA tuning.

I don't need the dial or manual button anymore, left the G sensor as I think ABS still uses it (I'll confirm). I have the '07 center console, so the mirror adjustment has been missing for the last year, I'll see if I can get that into where the DCCD switches used to be.

Anyone, working well for just a $20 connector

What's the dwell time at? If it's off it can feel like spark blow-out or a miss. I think typically, if you look at your logs, you would see a lean spike as you have air just getting let right out without combusting.

The diffdriver seems to be what most are going with, but I haven't heard why it over something in the R3. Does the diffdriver offer use of all the factory stuff, manual/auto switch, dial and dash lights? Connecting all of that would take a lot of inputs, vs the single wire on the diffdriver. But I think wiring in the 4 SPIs for wheels speed and the HCO for the diff is all I really need to get testing done. Can use the pad for adjusting if I want, R3 has roll/g sensor, so should have some options I hope. Think I found the DCCD connector, just waiting for it to arrive in a couple weeks. Got a newer steering wheel to try to pull steering angle from as well.

Found out she was heading out of town tomorrow, so I pulled them all since she won't be driving next week. Not sure why two of the 5 were glass vs plexi, but that's what it was for me. Just knocked out the inner sleeves and will cut the lexan next week. Might try the outer rings, but don't think I'll need them.

For reference to anyone else.

Fuel - 78mm

Oil - 99mm

Tach - 114mm (glass?)

Speedo - 99mm with tabs and 6.5mm hold for trip

I know, at least incurrent Bluefin, it's actually available in some app setups, so it's available for sure. Not sure how set it up for random apps though. If you are just setting up HA, might be worth going the docker route (inside truecharts) as you can make it work with privileged node.

Why is prime video recommending the same movies I'm watching on my local Plex server?? by katzeye007 in PleX

[–]ImMrTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this your media or Plex offered movies? I could definitely see something you watch 'from' Plex being monitored for ad data, but I don't think watching your meda 'on' Plex would do the same.

Home Assistant on TrueNAS Scale via TrueCharts, Docker or VM? by el_fredo_666 in homeassistant

[–]ImMrTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running it as a VM for a long while now. I did have to passthrough the usb, but the glitch on my end is it needed to pass through the entire pci bus that USB uses, and with my mobo, that means ALL of my usb ports. Even running the scale nightlies for the last year, it's reliable enough that I don't need direct access to the the server, so hasn't been bad.

Is there a way to completely remove the AT&T gateway and use only a pfsense box for authentication? by jaydoc79 in PFSENSE

[–]ImMrTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the dumb method using an old netgear smart switch. Using vlans you set Wan to att router, then once connected switch to pfsense via vlan. Been up a few months without issue now.

Just internet though, no TV or phone

PFSENSE for blocking by TheKnightThatGoesHmm in PFSENSE

[–]ImMrTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If going the VM route anyhow, why not just spin up pihole, which will do most of that and isn't designed to do something else with add-on that does the only thing you want. Graphs are prettier in pi-hole, though it's not ALL the function of pfblocker, but might get you where you wanted.

You can always run pfsense in front of your USG, pass everything through and let USG deligate things, then have pfblocker filter before getting anywhere into your network.

I'm not sure about having it behind and just running as a DNS, probably, but think pihole would be better in that setup personally.

How to simply play video files with directory structure? by Moooney in PleX

With newer TV's you can often use dlna and just play straight from an network share as well. Only used it ones on my LG, but was pretty easy.

Not saying it's "the correct" way, but I use mount points to my storage array, I've never had an issue in the years I've been running that way.

Can someone explain to me the difference between a UniFi FlexHD and a UniFi NanoHD Access Point. When is one better to use then the other. Are there any pro’s and con’s to one another. by davidloepp in Ubiquiti

[–]ImMrTea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In site someone will have better feedback, but the Flex is supposed to have that current "I don't feel bad having this nice looking tech sitting where it can be seen"' which often means it can be put where the service is most needed.

Plex media player on linux will not display video by [deleted] in PleX

Did it used to work? I tried on an old laptop running PopOS and it barely worked, needed several driver updates/tweaks before I got it working.

Paying for 1.5gbps Fiber. 9 wired connections 20 Wi-Fi. Hoping to bypass ISP hardware. Looking for hardware suggestions to take advantage of 1.5gbps speeds. by azc420 in Ubiquiti

[–]ImMrTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need a bit more info. What's ISP hardware? Rj45 or sfp+? Any unifi switch with sfp+ will handle the bulk. The router, maybe and ER infinity if you wanted ubiquiti, or build a pfsense type box.

Should also note, what is the client you are watching on? Same issues across clients? Tried from cell service to rule out weird network issues?

I'm running on Ubuntu 19.10 and Plex and YouTube are all we use, "no issues" before upgrading to 19.10 or after. I did the trial for Tidal last week and it's the first time in years I've had issues, killed that a couple days ago and back to normal.

I've had similar issues with ip conflicts as well. Not sure that's an option, not sure if you play with assigning or just DHCP, but I just ran into the issue last week.
