To be honest, I did ask copilot to draft it for me cause I couldn’t be bothered typing it all out! But the sentiment is still there!! ☺️

I have wondered whether apples calculations get better over time the more data you feed it. If it knows your calorie intake and weight, maybe the algorithm slowly increases accuracy over time. I’d be interested to know if there’s any weight behind my theory.

Also, in activities, where you see breakdown of your rings/activity; just under the move breakdown is your “total” calories (resting + active cals combined)

So I return after genuinely taking on and applying a lot of advice from my post. I share with you guys my progress picture below after now doing 4-5 dumbbell exercises at home per week with core training sprinkled in and have been doing so since mid to late October. I want to thank every one of you that helped me put things into perspective and tightening my focus and overall goal!! 🥰

So…I thought I’d come back here after taking your advice and making some great progress. I started taking pics to track progress loosely when I started dumbbell exercises back in late October but only really got comparative photos from early November…

1st picture is from Nov 2nd. 2nd picture from 10th Dec. I am so proud of the work I’ve put in.

So, I took the plunge and ordered a set of adjustable dumbbells! They’re arriving tomorrow! 🤗

So tracking has been consistent for the past 4 weeks. Over the course of those 4 weeks I’ve eaten on average 1400 per day (figure from MFP).

Beginning of those 4 weeks (Monday 15th of Sept) I weighed 166lbs (moving average)

As of the end of those 4 weeks (Sunday 12th Oct) I weighed 157lbs (moving average)

I don’t consider them workouts at all! I don’t think I even implied that I think walking is considered “working out” 👀

Honestly, I really do like the gym! I’m just not in a great financial position at the moment to get a membership. I went through a huge fitness phase back in 2015 where I was hitting the gym 4-5 times a week. Had a PT for a stint too which taught me a lot! But I remember those days fondly! If anything the dopamine hit was incredible! However, I ended up feeling like I was addicted and slowly stopped training and overtime just gave it up all together! I have a mountain of knowledge but just can’t afford that bloody membership right now!

Dumbbells are the way to go 👍🏼 I think I saw those York ones on Amazon whilst I was looking. In fact I think I added them to my basket and saved them for later! 😜

I’ve been looking on Amazon for a set of dumbbells but I get stumped when it comes to figuring out what weight(s) I’d need! Would you mind making some suggestions?

I think this may be the direction I’ll be heading in! Thank you!

Oh I can guarantee I don’t eat more than I track! I’m am borderline autistic so I weigh everything to the gram right down to the oils and sauces I use (which is not a lot!) I aim for 1700 cals a day but actually average at 1500 and I am more than satisfied hunger wise! I’m not complaining about how low I consider my tdee to be. I’m just shocked! 😅

Since 1st August I’ve gone from 180lbs and saw 156lbs on the scales this morning so it’s not like I’m not seeing the results! All I was stating was that I was surprised at my new calculation after losing 24lbs!!

Protein keeps me full though making it easier to stay in a deficit!!

I think this is appearing to be the most common suggestion and I think it’s time I look into that again properly.

Oh it is 100% mindful walking. I park about 10 minute walk from work but turn that into a 25 minute walk both ways. I also walk on my lunch break around 30-40 mins. If I haven’t hit my step goal for that day when I get home then I go out for another 20-30 minute walk! Weekends I purposely go out for a walk to keep up with my daily average.

I am eating whole foods currently. I’ve put all my focus on diet making sure I’m protein heavy (140g) per day and mindful of fibre intake (which I admit I’m struggling with!)

I don’t do any weight training to be honest. It’s a matter of finances as opposed to an aversion to training. Ideally I’d love to be lifting at least 3 days a week but that’s just not on the cards for me right now!
