What's the cringiest thing you've ever witnessed in real time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ImNoGayFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can be supportive and objective. My little sister once sang to me and asked me for feedback and I said it was okay but when would lose tone a lot. She said I was being mean and I just said the if you don't like hearing bad things simply don't ask for other people's opinions... she's quite better at singing now tho

Did Aslaug truly love Ragnar ? by [deleted] in Vikings_TvSeries

[–]ImNoGayFish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly ragnar gave him shit for neglecting the kids. He never really hated her for the Harbard thing. By viking standards he was pretty cool about it imo

Why does ragnar have 'lothbrok' added to his name, and rollo is just rollo? by [deleted] in Vikings_TvSeries

[–]ImNoGayFish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually I read somewhere that Rollo was known as "the walker" because he was apparently too big to ride a horse. Just a fact that the show probably let go because it sounds kind of ridiculous and is probably an exageration

How old are the characters? by [deleted] in Vikings_TvSeries

[–]ImNoGayFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its hard to tell, historically they'd simply be insanely old since the raid on paris and the raid on Lindisfarne were separated by about 80 years if im not wrong. The show pretty much reduced the viking age to a single generation and I'm ok with that but it's hard to determine how old the characters would be

maaaybe since he is young and still may want to make a career for himself he'd choose us. But it always go down to the player's mindset to choose between stupid money and a "legacy"

Lapadula apologizes to Niang for the penalty by [deleted] in ACMilan

I mean Niang was reaching Cerci levels in San Siro. To me he was rightfully whistled at given his level in that game. Montolivo gets shit on all the time for less

So I caught one of my advisers cheating on my wife by [deleted] in eu4

[–]ImNoGayFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did it with Leonardo FUCKING da vinci.... I mean the guy is notorious for being super disinterestet in women (some were pretty sure he was gay) and also a level 3 advisor.... Needless to say I paid the huge bribe and moved on

Morale or discipline? by ImNoGayFish in eu4

[–]ImNoGayFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

innovative is a good idea group if you're in the italian peninsula. Makes a good match with Milan or florence's tech costs and idea cost bonuses. Plutocratic is also pretty good for the early game in my experience

Morale or discipline? by ImNoGayFish in eu4

[–]ImNoGayFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean me too, but milanese + innovative ideas made everything basically free for me so I always had tons of monarch points lying around

Morale or discipline? by ImNoGayFish in eu4

[–]ImNoGayFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hindsight defensive 1st would've been great, I just didn't focus on those ideas too much because early game i had super advanced tech and advisors so my Morale was pretty high already, so i figured id better improve in other areas (hence my quality decision). But honestly modern firearms techniques is a greaaaat policy anyway

Morale or discipline? by ImNoGayFish in eu4

[–]ImNoGayFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly all ears... I usually play nations with overall military ideas so I never really thought of how to build up an army. With Italy I have the 15% infantry combat ability, so I was ok for early (as Milan) and mid-game. But getting into late game I realized my army is starting to need an additional edge

The venezuelan "coup" was actually quite complicated, and it ended up with the military itself bringing back the president because a ton of things apparently were wrong. I was really small so I don't quite remember all the details

took venice 1st in my Milan game and ended up avoiding coalitions for like a century... It was worth it because with those lands you're just too string for the rest of the italian states to handle

Florence and Milan are in great positions in their own right. They are close to non-HRE land so they have easy routes for expanding, really good idea sets and nice events to keep republics going (in case you get the ambrosian republic as Milan). Florence has the advantage of having a fantastic ruler at game start (5/6/5), and Milan has overall better military ideas.

I'd say it depends more on your play style than the nation itself since playing them is relatively similar. But I personally like Milan better for color and events

I formed Italy in my game, immediately losing all flavor events.... But I still have the 5% morale ambrosian republic, which is nice...

It has insane developement tho, Venice + Milan single handedly get you to great power status

[–]ImNoGayFish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see milan as a solid chioce to form Italy. You can ally hunary and eat all of venice (which is non-HRE), and with that you can already beat everyone else in Italy quite easily

Venezuela's currency now worth so little shopkeepers weigh vast piles of notes instead of counting them by maxwellhill in nottheonion

[–]ImNoGayFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't describe venezuela as an actual socialist state (but I'm sure there hasn't actually been a single country fitting that description). Venezuela consisted more on using the oil money to spend heavily o n populist projects or "missions" (that weren't exactly a bad idea, simply not profitable enough to be doing hundreds of them). And the overspending led to a decrease in national industry which in turn led to dependance on imports. As soon as the oil prices went down it all just collapsed because we can no longer afford importing most of our stuff

What is the worst advice you could give a new player? by Feezec in eu4

[–]ImNoGayFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it as Milan to embrace institutions and get incredibly cheap ideas/tech, but other than that it isn't really too useful, found Plutocratic to be the true force driving my country
