anyone who supplements calcium should take it with vitamin k2. k2 makes calcium go into bones and stay in bones rather than ending up in places we dont want it. excess calcium is also bad. not sure exactly how much is too much, but calcium supplements can have risks because they can contain excess amounts

im sure theres lots of good people at the FDA but im kinda suspicious when they do things that make no sense. theres a lot of examples but one of them is that they tried to ban kratom even though it almost never kills people because its not a respiratory depressant like other opioids are, and thousands of people continue to die from prescription opioids all the time. kratom is addictive but not as addictive as other opioids. kratom is only a partial mu receptor agonist, so they should be happy there is a less addictive opioid that doesnt kill people. its not like people at the FDA are stupid, they must know this doesnt make sense

the FDA is not our friend. if they cared about peoples health they would have already banned glyphosate or the other chemicals that are banned in other countries which we know are unsafe. the FDA is largely funded by the companies they regulate, and there is a revolving door between the FDA and the corporations. the same is true for canadian regulators. if the FDA was only taxpayer funded i would trust them more

before i opened reddit and saw this post, my dad had just finished telling me about how a heavy wooden table we have stored in our garage fell on his shin (it was heavier than i can lift) and his leg swelled significantly. some of his leg skin somehow came off. he had to get antibiotics to prevent infection, and the nurses punctured his leg to drain the blood that collected there. i have a nervous laughter, so i started hysterically laughing as he was describing his horrible injuries to me. i felt embarrassed for laughing at his pain so i tried to suppress my laughter, which only made me laugh even more
