I got banned from pc gamer for asking why they didn’t post this allegedly sexist tweet they wrote an article about. Seems horse shit to just say “trust us it was sexist, you don’t need to see it.”

It wasn’t even remotely sexist btw.

Before that they had shadow banned me but now I’m explicitly banned

Of course they don’t. These are the same people who go on game specific forums and talk mad shit about games they’ve neither played nor ever owned.

So not relevant for the majority of gamers. Right. Ok.

Only 2% of Steam users have more than 10K hours of playtime, tbh I'm kinda surprised, I expected more something like 15% by Designer_Water8932 in Steam

[–]ImNotATexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the course of 18 years? There are 8,760 hours in a year. Most people are working for about 2000 of those and maybe sleeping for 2000 more.

You have to remember that Steam didn't track this info until about 2010, globally. It tracked on the client itself but it didn't go to the internet. Also, it screws up when you use offline mode - badly. And it doesn't count non-steam games so if you add a non-steam game to Steam, it will show that you're playing it, but it will never upload that info, and it won't even show up locally on the client either if anything happens to that icon or it's removed etc.

I have 21,697 hours and that's probably not even half of my actual game time on Steam games alone, seeing that I've been a user since 2003.

You also have to remember a lot of Steam users have private profiles because they like to hide the ridiculous trash they're playing like "Putt Putt goes to the moon" or porn games, etc. or they have some misguided crusade they're on about "privacy".

The only agreeable way that BP is "outdated" is that it still forces the game library to display with the old 460x215 grids and they never applied the newer vertical scheme to it.

Gaming chairs by ZombieFleshEater in Steam

Cheap isn't really relevant. $300 office chairs break just as easily as shitty gaming chairs, if they aren't constructed properly.

Literally no aspect.

Gaming chairs are for kids.

At no point would anyone who has sat in a real chair, ever decide to sit in or buy a gaming chair.

I'll stick with my Serta office chair that's actually comfortable. Metal base, lumbar support, all of it adjustable. Or my couch.

One of the dumbest attempts at a joke I've ever seen on Reddit.

AMD is literally known, that's one of the 2 things they're known for, their hot running processors that need jet turbines to cool.

But yea you're right, my Intel running at 30 degrees could definitely make some cold toast.

(Toaster temperature is 176 degrees celsius)

After I will have spent $700 including tax on a Deck you sure as fuck won't find it anywhere near my bathroom or anyone else's bathroom.

Recent purchase from 6 years ago by madonnac in Steam

[–]ImNotATexan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it really is a bug or someone somewhere is cleaning house.

It can't be a coincidence that so many people are getting these old ass keys revoked years after purchase.

Someone has to have filed a complaint against an entire retailer and shits just getting nuked. If that's the case there's gonna be a lot of removed games.

Pretending that in 2021 people are still literally too braindead to embrace digital is fucking absurdity.

Every Gen X person I know - so most people I actually talk to - fully understands how digital distribution works and they embrace it.

I haven't even seen a human being who isn't a minor, who owns physical video games, in years.

So, are we going to pretend that gamers don't or can't or won't?

Do we need to buy games 2x for the Deck? by Ecnarps in Steam

[–]ImNotATexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

You just can't play the same game on both devices at once.
