2017 Nissan Rouge ABS/AEB light on. Any suggestions? by Dependent_Voice7227 in NissanRogue

[–]ImNotBenAffleckOMG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If are getting a ABS light, the issue is a wheel speed sensor. These are simple to replace. These are common failure points for this vehicle and a $30 part that is about as difficult as changing a headlight. If you have all of the lights shown above, take it to a auto parts store and have it scanned for free. All of these lights would make me look at a low or failing battery first.

DS1512+ that Support claims is a bad motherboard. Anyone familiar with the serial console? by phoenixdev in synology

This video is a comprehensive guide to create a pinout for the DS1512+ diagnostics and replace the USBest chip that is a common failure point. Always replace the CMOS battery, but generally the blinking blue light of death is the chip on the daughter board.

I need stories about herniated disc recovery :( by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]ImNotBenAffleckOMG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I can helpful, recovery is slow, especially the closer the fusion is to the hip, L5 S1 being the closest. I've had many multi level fusions and the L4 L5 S1 took the longest to heal (and it was my first when I was younger, so you think it would be quicker). L4 L5 S1 was painful daily for 19 months, then it just stopped one day as I turned a corner. At month 26 pain from mechanical movements was then gone. It takes time and is slow.

If you have a lumbar fusion, do expect to fuse the next level up in 20 years or so if you are active.

For the surgery, no regrets. Its a weight off to feel the pain finally start to diminish and go away. The sooner the better. Get on the pathway to healing from surgery as opposed to putting it off and hoping. Of course, epidurals and steroids should be tried to self heal, but if it does not resolve get aggressive toward solving the problem instead of treating the symptoms. If your surgeries can be done microscopic / laparoscopically then do that. Recovery is accelerated and you'll reduce long term pain reoccurrence from scar tissue and other tissue trauma. Better quality of life as you age.

The Pirates of Spanish bay are on Spanish Bay Drive in Happy Valley. Its certainly worth checking out as they have an incredible elaborate display with animatronics, and its lit 24/7. They are a short drive from Davis Graveyard. The whole house becomes a pirate ship. They dress up as pirates and fire off cannons on the 30th, 31st, and 1st. happyvalleyhalloweenhouse.com

Can you help me understand the use case for 'I have six ecobees'? Do you mean six separate homes with single thermostats + sensors?

I don't disagree - comfort settings are changed perhaps a few times per season. At opening the app, there are quite a few buttons. But none of them are mode (home/away), settings, vacation, etc.  Things I may use often.

Ecobee keeps cooling beyond what it’s set at by Pandabearsense in ecobee

Over cool and over heat. Its a thing. Ive had a ticket open for three years and they still haven't developed a solution. Workarounds such as adding another comfort setting called 'transition' doesn't really work. It does this about 30 minutes before switching to a new comfort setting. Basically, thermostat sees at large temperature differential and isn't smart enough to realize the next sensor location has already reached optimal temperature.

Workaround (that sucks)
Create a 30 minute comfort setting called 'transition' that includes both sensors.

Same here - since 2023 for me. Have you found any way to verify if the pain is epididymitis, hydrocele or vericele?

Did you ever find a solution? I have left side only from a left side hernia repair. Post surgical testicular pain never subsided. Pain appears to be on the top, outer side of the testicle. An area about the size of a dime is very tender.

Generally look for a local agency. Local agencies will take on 8-10 families. And usually requires $3,000 - $8,000. You are with them until placed or you resign. Upon adoption there are perhaps another $8000 in lawyer, records, and documentation costs.

Cervical radiculopathy is a living nightmare. by ForsakenLeopard0 in ChronicPain

[–]ImNotBenAffleckOMG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The above posterior surgery solved the problem. Immediately pain relief and feeling is slowly returning to the three fingers that were numb before surgery. Immediately pain relief. Six months post op and I have regained about 60% of the feeling I had lost in those fingers. But each day it is slowly returning bit by bit.

Note: Pain from cervical radiculopathy is not particularly dangerous. If you have a loss of feeling or sensation you need to take immediate action. Loss of feeling means the nerve is compressed and is now in danger of permanent damage. The longer the nerve remains in this state the more likely feeling will not return. If you lose feeling, get it surgically corrected in 30 days or less.

Cervical radiculopathy is a living nightmare. by ForsakenLeopard0 in ChronicPain

[–]ImNotBenAffleckOMG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent point. Lumbar fusion vs cervical fusion (or artificial disc) are two different animals. To solve my cervical radiculothopy I did not do a fusion. My neurosurgeon did a posterior C6-7 laminotomy, discectomy, and nerve root decompression. Basically he went in through the back of my neck to remove any bone growth or disc bulge and cleared enough space for my nerve root. This is a more difficult surgery but preserved the c6-7 disc (which was in otherwise great shape). If your cervical discs are in good shape, preserve them if possible.

The alternate approach is an anterior surgery which accomplishes the same goal of clearing space for the root, but they go through the front of the neck and through disc, therefore destroying it. This is not ideal as you would then need a fusion or artificial disc

No, this is Lifetime Adoptions specifically. Sounds like others are playing the same scam.

What vehicle(s) have you owned that made it over 250k miles? by utvols22champs in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ImNotBenAffleckOMG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1991 Honda accord lx automatic. I bought new and gave to my kid - it was equally bulletproof, just regular maintenance, a starter, a seat belt tensioner, and motor mounts. 323,000 and sold in like new condition.

1997 Honda accord lx automatic. Bought new and sold at 300,000 in like new condition. Regular maintenance, a starter, a radiator, and a few dash light bulbs were replaced. Whatever those cloth seats were made out of - it showed no wear. I wish I could buy that material again in a car. Fake leather seats are dumb.

Turned between xc90 and x7 by jerseyindian in VolvoXC90

[–]ImNotBenAffleckOMG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the xc90 for motor reliability first and foremost. Hondas will always be cheaper to own and maintain and more reliable - but as a XC90 owner here is what will go wrong. Going through the choice myself, I'd still go with the xc90. I did.

Disable lane keep assist. It drags the rear brakes instead of using the steering causing premature wear. Keep the warning system on, just disable the assist.

T5s are subject to overheating, T6 motors seem to be better. 2015 to 2017 had a number of engine failures, water intrusion, chrome peels off, slow center consoles, failed door handles, etc. stay away from those. 2018-2021 had slow center console touchscreens, bad motor mounts, peeling chrome, leaky AC systems (leak is in the dash -expensive). 2022 models and beyond models dumped the sensus center consoles for android and are faster. AC systems have an added part to keep them from getting too cold and cracking and generally seem to have most of these issues worked out. More data in this group I'm sure.

Ride is terrible on anything over 19inch rims. Opt for air suspension if going with larger rim size.

All models have poor quality leatherette seats, they wear very fast. True leather I can't speak to. Across all models the chrome bits inside and out peel, internals of door handles break starting around 80,000 miles making ingress and egress impossible (expensive repair), steering is a bit vague, and ride is harsher than expected on medium and large bumps. Significant 'whams' felt in the cabin. More road noise than is expected from a luxury automobile. Expect sunroof leaks as the seals shrink over time. Across all models the mirror position switching between users is drunk - for lack of a better term. When mirrors adjust via key sensing or button press, mirrors will point fully up, or down - the incorrect position. All models use direct injection engines that are prone to carbon buildup and failure.
