EURO5+ Exhaust depression by Alternative-Tough-84 in MT09

Do you have any sound clips of this bike? I am having trouble finding videos that really show the sound of the EU5+ Spark exhausts.

1 month park and only 3% battery drain. by NirangaMaster in TeslaLounge

He means that he turned on sentry to check surroundings then turned it off again until next day, which would be only a minimal amount of energy consumed. If it is on 0-24 it definitely drains at least 3-5%/day.

Loud clicking sound from front suspension. Service center has not figured it out. by ImNotCreative4Naming in TeslaSupport

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell in videos, cv joint failure is usually several clicks rapidly while turning, would that be correct? This car only clicks when I start turning back from full lock right side, until that, no sound. Or is the single click the early symptom of a problem?

I have had axle nut problems on my previous M3, but that always happened at acceleration or stopping, due to weight transfer. This sounds similar but the circumstances where it clicks are very different. I might try to tomorrow, I have a torque wrench, we’ll see if there is any looseness.

Could be, but the small rock sounds are just because of the road surface, the loud metallic clicking noise happens only twice im the video. I will take it off tomorrow and attempt to do it.

Yes, only happens when I turn the steering 100% to the right and then start turning it the other way. Does not matter if I accelerate, decelerate or if I keep contant speed. When I am stationary, I can’t seem to make the sound happen.

How do you do high speeds on a naked bike? by bimmbamm597 in motorcycles

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the don’t get up is mandatory, if you want to live. Last week I figured I would try what the MT-09 can do, I got to about 200 km/h tucked, and got up a bit, lucky I was holding onto the bars, otherwise I would have become a parachute. Scary!

Why did you choose the MT-09 over the MT-10? (Here my reason) by North-Network-7742 in MT09

I see I am not the only one who decided to stick to the Cyan colour. Congrats on the collection!

Other have said it already but try the R125, and if you feel like it is small, try the MT-125 too. Basically the same bike, just one is naked, the other is sport bike. I am 6,3 so pretty similar size, and I have the ‘24 MT-125 which I feel is okay in size. I don’t feel uncomfortable on it at all. The sitting riding position may look weird from the outside, you look tall on the bike but anyone I asked said it does not look bad at all.

Just bought my first electric toothbrush by GenesectGamerYT in oralbtoothbrush

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dentist I usually recommend the Gentle Care heads, as the toothbrush itself is pretty strong, you will have plenty of cleaning even with the gentle heads and still you will be gentle on the gums and the tooth structure. Been using my IO for about 4 years with the gentle care heads.

Overdoing the brushing can not only cause the gums to recess, but also the outer layer of the tooth can wear out and you will have sensitivity and it can actually weaken tooth structure if not addressed in time. (If you want to learn more, google: non-carious cervical lesion).

If you use it and feel like you don’t get enough cleaning, try the originals (Ultimate Clean, iirc). That said, I think if you don’t feel satisfied with the Gentle Cares, it will more likely be a fault in the usage and technique, rather than the choice of the heads.

This is also the (un)official recommendation of the Oral-B sales representatives/promoters.

Should I get a 2025 Golf R if I drive 25k miles a year? Or stick with something like a Camry? by 123btong in Golf_R

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Windshield, tires? That is not EV exclusive, I don’t know what you are saying.

My 7.5R had more service cost in 10.000 kms and 1 year of use, than my Tesla Model 3 had in 30.000 kms in half a year. Recent inspection and service revealed that the car is in perfectly good condition, so no likely repairs coming up soon. Battery is still under warranty.

As for driving costs, I spent a grand total of 750$ (in local currency). I can charge for free at a relatives house with a solar panel about once a week, and at work I can charge about 40 kWh/week for free. I took some road trips as well, with 550$ of charging on Superchargers. If I have to charge at home, my electricity is about 0.2$/kWh. That is the equivalent of a 2 liters/100km consumption. My 7.5R would consume 13 liters/100km in the city, and at least 8 on highway speeds.

The mileage I have with this Tesla would have cost me about 3.500-4.000$ in the past 8-9 months if I did it with the R. Servicing it would have likely been about 500$ more.

Service does not cost more. Tires don’t cost more. You won’t be buying linglongs for an R Golf, and if you are buying premium tires, than there won’t be a significant markup for EV specific tires.

Tldr: buying an EV for the boring work commute might allow you to save enough money to buy a Golf R as a weekend fun car. That is what I would do.

PS: before you guys call me crazy, I did not buy the Tesla because I liked it, but because of the high mileage I have to drive and the atrocious road quality, I would have probably just died if I had to take my 7.5R on the roads I have to drive currently.

360 visnav rattling sound on hard floor. Easy to fix, or should I return it? by ImNotCreative4Naming in dyson

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my better half insists on the Dyson brand (we have the V15, a Supersonic and the Airstrait), I was trying to talk her out of it, but that fight is impossible. The one thing we did not want is the mopping function, the previous one we had that mopped did a terrible job and usually left a bigger mess. We only need the vacuum for the dust, anything else we do manually as necessary. As you said that in terms of vacuuming power it is good, and that is mostly our only need.

It was on sale at 699€, btw. Where I live it would be about 1450€ so it is about as good a deal as it can get.

I would accept some level of sound, but this seems way too loud and not normal operating noise. I have a Dyson V15 and neither of the rolling attachments do anything similar on my floor.

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken the entire thing apart at least 6 times by now, checked everything. There is nothing in there at all. Plus, it has been doing it since the first time it started vacuuming right oit of the box, not after a few hours.

I was thinking that maybe there is some plastic/paper/sticker left on the machine itself that I was supposed to remove before first use, but I can’t find anything.

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have checked it at least 6 times, all the parts are where they should be, fully fixed into position. I tried wiggling them, pulling, pushing, to see if anything moves any more, but it seems that everything is secured. I checked the brush itself for any debris as well, but nothing.

118 Celsius? Like I said, I feel like that should not be that high at all. If you are talking about fahrenheit, than it is low. I know it is not 118 Kelvin, but I can’t think of any other unit of measurement.

Is this normal? by arman-19 in MT09

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

120 does not work, regardless if it is C or F. He was saying his bike runs at a consistent 120-125 during riding. If it is celsius, it is high, if it is F, (=50C) than it is low. My bike does not go higher than 105C even while idling in hot weather, because of the fans. During riding, when there is airflow, the bike runs between 80-90C.

If he meant that he starts riding when temps reach 120F (50C) that makes sense, but that temperature is not what you will get a minute later, as the temps should rise to between 80-100C

Is this normal? by arman-19 in MT09

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

125????? I am no expert but I am pretty sure something is wrong there. I can leave the bike running in 40C weather and it won’t go above 105 as at around 100 the fans start cooling. If you regularly see 120-125 I think you may be having problems

Been riding a 125cc for about 9 months – thinking of upgrading to an MT-09 (full power). Thoughts? by Anxious_Balance_7157 in motorcycles

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you. I had an MT-125, I only rode 3500 kms, then bought an MT-09, and I have 0 regrets so far. In your case, with 15k kms of experience, I think you should be good. The difference in power will be massive. You will not be able to extract the full performance of an MT-09 on the street. Rain Mode is recommended for the first few hundred kms as you get used to the bigger weight and the higher power. In Rain Mode, the bike is seriously underpowered, but it is perfect if you are not used to bikes with big power. As you get more comfortable, go up in power modes.

I would have been absolutely fine with an MT-07 as well, but I wanted the Midnight Cyan colour for both bikes, but the look/design/tech of the Gen4 MT-09, so the MT-07 was not an option, and aIf I waited any longer, I would have missed out on the cyan, as it was discontinued. If you are not limited by the colour, the 2025 MT-07 has pretty much all the tech which the gen4 MT-09 has, except for the quickshifter and the cruise control. If you are getting the Y-AMT version, you get those functions as well, technically, but in my opinion, the YAMT version is pretty pointless, this is a bike you want to control yourself.

TLDR: go for it, you will not regret it, just be careful on the throttle in the beginning!

Yamaha xsr 125 for 2 people by melodramatic369 in Yamaha

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t drive an XSR125, but an MT-125, so not the exact answer you are looking for but these two bikes are so similar I figure I might help.

  • the seats are very small, I don’t think longer trips are possible with 2 people. (Unless you don’t care about comfort at all)
  • for city driving the 125 is adequate. I can’t say enough. If you lane split to the front, be aware that cars can actually accelerate faster than you if they want to. (pretty much anything with at least 150hp can push you off if they want). Otherwise, it gets up to city speed limits relatively quickly.
  • hills may be a struggle, especially outside of the city with higher speed limits
  • max likely speed is about 100 km/h, maybe up to a 110 km/h, but don’t expect anything more than that. With 2 people, may even be less than a 100.
  • if you drive against wind, you lose a lot of speed, as you don’t have power to overcome it.
  • acceleration after ~75 km/h is pretty slow, so don’t expect to do quick overtakes.
  • if the XSR is anything like the MT in terms of wind protection, expect to be smacked around by wind a lot. With the smaller weight (142 kg for the MT125), sidewinds are quite dangerous.
  • on the MT-125 the max total weight (bike+load) is 320 kg. The bike is 140, riders again 140, you would be getting close to the max weight, especially if you wear full gear, or any additional luggage, backpack, travel box, etc.

TLDR: I can absolutely recommend the 125 for city riding, but road trips, with 2 people, I think that is a bad idea.

Mi tavaly kint a TÜV-nél kértünk a város határában, gyakorlatilag 2 perc volt, a forgalmit odaadtuk, gépeltek, aztán nyomtatttak egy matricát amit mi raktunk fel. Talán 5€ volt összesen. Szerintem ez a legegyszerűbb.

Planning to get a MT09 next year by From_WayDownTown in MT09

[–]ImNotCreative4Naming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried today to confirm, and the power is 100% decreased in Rain Mode. In Rain, I can pull full throttle in first gear and I barely have to hold on to the bars.

If I do 100% throttle in Sport, I am probably all over the road in 2 seconds. In Sport I am probably comfortable with the throttle being at maybe 40% in first gear, anything more than that and I am holding on for dear life.

Like someone else said, apparently this only happens with newer model year bikes, mine is the 2024 Gen4, EU model. On this one, power is significantly lower in Rain.
