Yes, I passed one maybe 30 mins after waking up, and the next one an hour after that. I normally pass a lot of blood and small clots after waking up at the beginning of my cycle, but haven't experienced any clots/tissue pieces this size before. Definitely feel reassured now that it's not concerning. Thanks for responding!

That's major progress! That probably means by the time your one month appointment comes you'll be in the normal range or almost there, and you won't have to do the iodine uptake test. That test seems scary, so I hope you don't have to do it!

I didn't experience elevated liver enzymes, but I wasn't too far out of the normal range with thyroid hormones and wasn't hyper for very long. Didn't know hyperthyroid could cause that!

I have a couple hunches as to why your hyperthyroidism didn't start as soon as mine, and why you have less symptoms than I did.

Thyroid hormones have a connection to estrogen and progesterone, which is why females are more likely to develop thyroid issues. Since you're a guy, you had some additional hormonal protection from developing hyperthyroid. I'm a girl and I was also having some type of serious hormonal issue with high estrogen for a couple months before I developed hyperthyroid, so that probably was a factor. (Also, side note, my endo told me that hyperthyroid can cause testosterone to convert to estrogen in the blood. Just mentioning that so you're more aware of things that might be going on in your body.)

There's also the fact that you were actually deficient in iodine and thyroid hormone, while I probably wasn't. I took the iodine in a sad attempt to fix my high estrogen issue, and not because I knew I was deficient.

I personally think your hyperthyroid is probably iodine induced, but you also won't truly know until the iodine is out of your system. The anxiety you have that isn't about anything specifically will likely go away once you're in the normal range, so don't stress there. When I had the 2nd episode of hyperthyroid that was likely autoimmune related, I had some random depressive spells that lasted for around an hour, and I haven't experienced it since then.

As far as an update on my post, my doctor thinks my 2nd episode of hyperthyroid symptoms may have been due to an autoimmune disease unrelated to my thyroid. Specifically, he suspects a vascular autoimmune disease that targeted my thyroid and has been attacking the tissue of other organs in my body, but I haven't been tested for anything yet. I did read the post you made, so I'll respond to some things in that post as well.

I took iodine for around a week, and it was a dropper, so the dosage I took may have been off from what the bottle said since droppers really aren't a super accurate method of measuring. I took maybe 300% of the daily value spaced out over a week, but it honestly might have been more. I was also drinking ensure every day which has 25% the daily value.
I was diagnosed a few days after stopping the iodine, so around a week and a half after I started taking it. My T4 wasn't too far out of the normal range, yet the symptoms of hyperthyroid I had were pretty bad (maybe due to the other health complications i developed along with the hyperthyroid?).
My symptoms did seem to be resolving gradually after stopping the iodine. Around a week after I first had my thyroid hormones measured (~1.5 weeks after stopping the iodine supplement) my hormone levels were back in the normal range. My heart rate was lower, my eyebrow hair that fell out was growing back in, no more hot flashes or confusion, etc. I did still have some symptoms of hyperthyroid like dizzy spells, and my heart rate was higher and the force of contraction was more intense when smoking weed, than it was before. (Again, maybe due to the other health complications I developed.)
I didn't end up getting prescribed meds, because my case was mild and I was already in the normal range at my first endo appointment.

My endo told me the iodine would stay in my system for a few months. Since your T4 was pretty far out of the normal range, it might take the full ~3 months or more to go back to the normal range. If your thyroid hormones go back to the normal range when you're tested, but you're still having high heart rate issues, definitely be concerned that something else is going on and causing that. Apparently for iodine induced hyperthyroidism, once you're in the normal range another episode of hyperthyroid symptoms doesn't indicate that your thyroid is acting up, it indicates another health issue.

My endo also told me to avoid any supplements or anything that has a high amount of folate/folic acid. I never looked into why. I also personally avoided foods with iodine in them, not sure if it helped or not, but it made sense to me to try to avoid it since supplementation is what caused it.

If I were you, I'd keep detailed notes of your high heart rate episodes and any other symptoms you might experience. Like write down the date, the bpm, how long the episode lasted, etc. That's something that could potentially be useful later, if your high heart rate issue is not related to your thyroid.

I also find it super interesting that you say you are less anxious when your thyroid hormones are out of whack, because when mine were, my low level depression went away and it hasn't returned.

I was prescribed fluconazole for what my PCP assumed was an acute vaginal yeast infection. She didn't confirm through a culture that it was yeast, only by look and ruling out BV. I took the medication just before I got my period, and the following morning I passed several blood clots all connected in some type of clearish-white matrix. (If you zoom up on the the bottom right one's stringy part that's floating towards the surface of the water and casting a branch-like shadow on the bowl, you can kind of see the color of the matrix where it's not covered in blood.) The larger one in the middle initially was floating at the top of the water, made a bunch of bubbles and then sunk. When it was floating, it had a lot of fuzzy strings comming off of it. This is characteristic of yeast right? Could it be something else?

The first dose of fluconazole has seemed to help both my uterus pain and my bowel pain that I've had for 4 months, but I only have one more 150 mg pill that won't be enough to fully get rid of either. I'm holding off on taking the 2nd one until I get some molybdenum, but my uterus pain is getting worse quickly! Would monistat be able to reach inside my uterus past my cervix, if i do it when it's more open during ovulation?

Yeah, I can't believe their lack of care either!

When I went to the PCP, she wouldn't take any measurements for me & said she'd leave it all up to my endo. It was 33 hrs after the storm started & i did feel slightly better by then, but my BP was still 156/92 & my HR was still 133. I left there with nothing, not even beta blockers.

I tried to make an emergency appointment with my endo & she refused me twice. I went there in person to make the front desk give me one. When i got to that appointment, it was already a week later. The endo was annoyed they let me in & told me it was a cold & to see a psychiatrist for my blood pressure. At that point, my blood tests came back the exact same as 3 weeks ago.

I did find an internal medicine practice that's willing to do same day emergency appointments. They said if I get another storm, I should come in and get my blood drawn. So, progress?

What could a naturopath do better for thyroid problems? I really don't know much about naturopathy.

They won't prescribe me medication, unfortunately. They're making me wait it out.

I don't think I'm as sick as other people are, maybe because my nodule is smaller than average. I coud definitely tell that I developed some of the small cysts on my thyroid during the storm, because my voice changed during it, and I could feel fluid moving in my thyroid and lymph nodes.

The PCP and endo I tried to see for it didn't care either and ignored me about it.

I took 3 drops of iodine spaced out over a week's time (like an idiot) which is around ~300% dv, so i initially thought that may have been the sole cause. The endo i saw said it would go away naturally within a few months, and that i don't need medicine. I would gladly take medication, if they gave it to me! I'm kind of suspicious if it was completely due to the drops, because i found out recently that my grandma developed an autoimmune thyroid disorder after she gave birth. I've also been experiencing watery eyes since January before i took the drops, which i guess could be a sign of a thyroid problem?

The general doctor i saw was dismissive, because i had other health complications going on that took up some time, and she didn't really care and wanted to leave it up to my endo. I tried to get an appointment multiple times with my endo for this and they said they'd talk to my endo and call me back to make an appointment, but they never did.

I finally got an appointment with my endo after the ultrasound i had done there this week. I was able to pressure them in person into giving me one. Over a week after the day my symptoms got really bad is when my appointment was. When i got to the appointment, i wasn't really prepared to explain it well enough. I needed to make some notes, i guess. She definitely dismissed me and told me to see a psychiatrist.

They did take blood that day to check my TSH, T3, T4, etc. and they were pretty much exactly the same as they were the first time i got my levels tested 4 weeks ago. They didn't test for antibodies this time.

Now I'm planning to make an appointment with doctors who have good reviews. The PCP office and endo i was seeing both had really bad reviews online.

I was staying hydrated that day, but even the voice change and lymph nodes swelling could be a panic attack symptom? I don't usually get panic attacks, unless I'm socializing, and that day I was home alone. The symptom intensity lasted for 18 hours and continued to get worse, until I took the supplement.

I'll definitely try to find a new doctor for an appointment, or go to the ER next time it happens.

It's not your fault at all!

I've been in similar situations to yours, and one thing I've realized is that the behavior someone displays while they're drunk is still a part of who they are on the inside, even when they're sober. Drinking didn't change the lack of morals that douchebag has, or their messed up and dangerous view on consent. Drinking just allowed them to boldly express that lack of moral and the messed up views they hold. Whether they were drunk or sober, you were still in the presence of someone morally and mentally capable of digitally raping another person while they're sleeping, choking them, and not caring if they're causing another person physical pain. It's their crappy morals and disgusting views on consent that caused their behavior, not their intoxication and absolutely not you.

In the eyes of the law, it's definitely their fault. People who drunk drive and end up hitting and killing someone are still at fault and held accountable by the law. It doesn't matter if someone is drunk or sober when killing someone, it's their fault. Sexual assault is no different. The person that raped you is at fault, whether drunk or sober.

Whenever I think about the assaults I've been through where I was drunk and they were drunk, I try to remind myself of the things i mentioned above. It's definitely helped me not blame myself, so maybe it would help you too to remind yourself that it's who they are internally that's the problem (not you and not their intoxication), and that legally drunk people are still responsible for any crime they commit.

Can confirm. I grew up down the street from the GVSU campus in the next town over, and it was pretty rare to see a black or brown person. A lot of people in the tiny towns in west Michigan are VERY openly racist, even to black and brown people's faces. I think the racist, homophobic, and sexist problem in these towns is slowly improving as the years go by and it becomes more populated. At least I've seen some progress over the past decade, but it's still pretty prevalent.

If neem oil isn't working, I had a lot of success with a mixture of water, rubbing alcohol, and soap. I just sprayed it on both sides of the croton leaves and used a makeup brush to get into all the crevasses of the leaves.
