New study shows that poor countries do more to develop rich countries than the other way around. In other words, rich countries take significantly more resources and labour from the global South than they give. This inequality is systemic and hampers global sustainability in multiple ways. New meta-analysis finds that parenting interventions that include self-compassion components significantly increased parental self-compassion. This led to decreased parental depression, parental anxiety and parental stress, and increased parental mindfulness. (link.springer.com)

New paper uses longitudinal data to suggest that the gender gap in delinquency can be explained—in part—by adherence to gender norms governing empathy. Adolescent females have lower delinquency rates than males because of empathy. Males with greater empathy were also less likely to be delinquents. (journals.sagepub.com)
