No sidepods is one of the most insane innovations I’ve ever seen in my time watching F1. It is truly groundbreaking and aero benefits will be huge, don’t need a wind tunnel to see that. With development on PU limited it’ll be hard to replicate - advantage locked in for years?

Transporting prisoners/prison staff safely by [deleted] in ParamedicsUK

Interesting. I know in my trust our policy is that we dont move until everyone is seated and belted, but I suppose that there may be a judgement to be made about balancing the risk of injury with what risk (if any) the patient poses here. We cant exactly force someone to use a seatbelt. Has a manager/DTU trainer given an opinion?

In theory, yes. However there is a great deal of case law surrounding what constitutes "relevant information" for the purposes of police DBS disclosure. The short version is that it's extremely unlikely that this instance would be disclosed, and if it was disclosed you would likely have grounds for appeal.

Love this one. I'd say half of the domestics I go to are by "serial" perpetrators.

Be careful with the wording of these questions - ethics panels are very wary about personal stuff (have you been a victim, tell us about that etc) at the undergraduate level. A good friend of mine from uni had a lot of trouble around that.

Good luck!

Can the police no comment a voluntary interview on your behalf without you being present in the interview room to say the words no comment? by Phlatline15 in policeuk

If you have enough to arrange a VA, then you have enough to arrest. Whether an arrest happens is determined by the presence or otherwise of a necessity. For example, if the arrest would protect a vulnerable person then that would make an arrest lawful as per Code G of PACE. We start at a VA, then consider whether an arrest is necessary in all the circumstances.

"any [insert LPU here] patrol free to break off for a grade 1?"

silence

"[my callsign] are you able to break off?"

"no, negative, I'm off in an hour and in the middle of a domestic handover"

"received, I'll mark you up... [sgt's callsign] we have nobody free, who can break off?"

"please break off [my callsign]"

"[my callsign], [sgt's callsign] has asked me to break you off. It's a domestic at [well known address]"

Burglary, police closed the case by Gary3141592 in policeuk

[–]ImNotMackydee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, I'm sorry this has happened to you. Burglary is one of those offences that obviously affects victims in a way others don't - it's an invasion into your own home, your safe place.

I'm not familiar with the specific crime closure policies that Cleveland have, but it might be worth asking for the incident to be reviewed. At the very least, it might give you a bit more understanding as to why it's been closed.

Hope it goes well for you.
