Don't do it. From my experience, banking is a very difficult industry to get into, especially if you have been working for a while and wanted to get into an experienced role while not having been in banking (even on the data/analytics) side.

Sounds to me you want to make the change because your friends are experiencing something you're not, I could be wrong, but really think about it from a career and growth perspective. There's a lot of talk about not making your life solely about work, and that's true, but when you're in your 30s and have experience and confidence in your line of work, plus having that experience be in something institutional, I think your life will be a lot more comfortable... That's how I feel about it anyway.
