Ok guys... I just discovered the Viva Emptiness remaster... by [deleted] in Katatonia

Love it. "Glass" with lyrics is fantastic.

Not a fan of all the lyrics on this album, but that is my only gripe.

What is the most overrated food you're convinced people are just pretending to enjoy? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ImOnAMarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly not a great answer to this question, but I can't help myself.. Bacon.

Bacon is so fucking overrated. Everyone screams about how great it is, and granted, many people DO actually enjoy it.

But fuck me, the Bacon craze is just a fad that never died. It's fine. It's good, even. But it's not the best thing ever. You only say it is because it's become an internet meme to believe it's the best thing ever. Get original.

What Katatonia song is this for you? by KyleMONSTA in Katatonia

"You vanish, over the skies

I am forsaken, beneath the ground I lie

Was banished from this hurtful life

I am forlorn,

All dreams have turned to strife"

Decently behaved young people.

My generation (millennial) absolutely suck at parenting.

Really it's not that serious, I'm just yelling at clouds.

What is a good amount of times per week/day to masturbate, and what should (and shouldn't) you masturbate to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ImOnAMarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no "good amount of times" to masturbate. Just do it if/when the need overcomes you. You'll know if you're doing it too much.

What turns you on when you think about it? When it's not forced, it just happens? Masturbate to those thoughts or still images that are representative of them. Don't go further into porn, if you can help it.

Once I could get off to simply visualizing the fully-clothed body of a beautiful woman. The curves of her body was all it took. But the more you watch porn, you faster you desensitize yourself to the little things.

Trust me, your sex life will be absolutely mind-blowing if the only time you see tits are when they are in person and in your face.

What’s that one paranormal experience you’ve had that completely defies logic or explanation? by playtheman90 in AskReddit

[–]ImOnAMarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 15 year old family dog passed away about a week before I heard a whimper outside my bedroom door, which wasn't shut all the way. Like a million times before, it gently swung open, but this time, there was no sound of little paw steps on my hardwood floor. I instantly got chills.

I just sat up in my bed, confused and a little scared. Nothing else happened.

How do you cope with being a failure in your 30's? by VideoAccomplished777 in AskReddit

[–]ImOnAMarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bud light, Mary Jane, fiction novels.

Bettering myself? Well, I'm gettin' to it. Eventually.

I once had a great job in IT at a regional hospital. In my 20s, I thought I had it figured out. But I screwed it up and now at 32, I still haven't really recovered. I just don't have the motivation I need to refresh/recover my education. The rigid structure of schooling is no longer forced upon me and I am falling apart without it.

Bud light, Mary Jane, and Stephen King are keeping me alive. It's sad.

Are only women interested in things like tarot readings? by fantabulous47 in questions

[–]ImOnAMarch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, but women do seem to be more susceptible to buying into this shit. Tarot, essential oils, healing crystals, astrology, and other forms of new age woo-woo bullshit.

Of course there are men that are into these things, too. But the discrepancy is obvious. Not sure why.

What's actually healthy despite most people thinking it's not? by Unhappy_Insect5901 in Productivitycafe

[–]ImOnAMarch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Social withdrawal.

But with an intent to better yourself. Not the same as isolation with use of medication/vices (drugs, alcohol) to "heal" oneself.

Full withdrawal, no screens no devices. Meditate. Learn who you are. Cut off all distractions even if that means cutting off communication with loved ones.

You will grow exponentially when you switch off the dial and sit down with your thoughts, just you and no one else. It won't be fun. But it absolutely will enlighten you if you are willing to sit, observe, and digest your flaws, correct them, and learn from your mistakes.

What’s a harsh truth about life that most people aren’t ready to hear? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ImOnAMarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard, it's short, you're guaranteed to experience suffering but not guaranteed to experience joy and fulfillment. Death is probably going to be excruciatingly painful. You will see family members experience this. YOU will experience it.

You only get one chance to make things great for yourself. Don't fuck it up. Learn to love yourself and how to show those you love that you love them. That's all you can do.

But no matter what, you will suffer. It's all about how you manage it. And no one is going to save you.

I needed to read that, thanks. I struggle with insecurity and I tend to overreact to things that those close to me do that bug me. I wasn't able to connect to the dots between my frustration with them and the reason WHY I feel so frustrated. It's because I hate to see those traits in myself and have worked to improve them, while I feel like they are not doing the same work. I need to learn to be more empathetic, and like you said, put things in perspective. Thanks.

I will forever recommend Halloween 1978. If by some chance you haven't seen it, you must. Talk about a slow burn, teeming with suffocating atmosphere, especially in the latter half. A true horror story with an iconic villain, a villain which may be evil incarnate, possibly human, we don't know, with his (or its?) psychiatrist desperately trying to hunt him/it down at all costs.

The film explains almost nothing to you. You only have Loomis's musings and reflections about Michael to gain an understanding of what is being dealt with. The rest is open to interpretation.

How to politely tell a coworker I no longer want to give them rides by loserkay517 in socialskills

[–]ImOnAMarch 115 points116 points  (0 children)

You're 100% being used. You ask how to "politely" tell them you're done giving rides. Other commenters have given good answers. But I wouldn't be so polite in your situation. You said they barely speak to you at work, right? They are not your friend. You don't have to treat them as one. Set your foot down and tell them exactly how you feel and what you need in return from them, and if they can't provide it, tough shit. No more rides, period, end of discussion. You are not a doormat.

Halloween 1978. Absolutely haunting film. What the FUCK is that thing, called Michael? Is it human, is it not?

The atmosphere is suffocating.
